Off the mark at Worcester last month, proving a different proposition under a more positive ride. Ran at least as well under a penalty when finding only an unexposed sort too strong at Warwick (19f, good) just over 4 weeks ago and should be bang there again.

Given a considerate return from a 4-month break back hurdling for his first outing since leaving M. Kehoe when fifth of 11 in novice at Bangor (19.6f, good) just under 7 weeks ago. Has been handed a tricky opening mark but there could be more to come.

Course bumper winner who made an encouraging start in this sphere when third of 13 in 20.6f novice at Market Rasen last November. Close to form but again found a couple too good when last seen at Hexham (20.1f, good) 4 months ago and now heads down the handicap route.

Westerner filly who looked to have been let-in lightly after just 2 starts over hurdles and duly made a mockery of her opening mark in 12-runner handicap at Market Rasen (23.1f, good) last week, quickening clear before 2 out. Plenty more to come and will be hard to beat under a penalty.

Showed ability in bumpers and looked a work-in-progress in trio of maiden hurdles to date this summer. Fit from Flat but failed to find the necessary improvement contesting his first handicap over hurdles at Huntingdon (19.6f, good) recently so more required to open his account.

Looked one to follow in opening his account in thoroughly dominant fashion in 13-runner handicap at Uttoxeter (19.9f, good to soft) when last seen in June, leading approaching 3 out the asserting quickly. With more improvement in the pipeline, he's a definite player on return.

Modest at best on the Flat (stays 1½m) but and made a successful handicap hurdle debut from 13 lb out of the weights with the same visor/tongue strap combination fitted in 9-runner event at Market Rasen (18.6f, good to firm) last month. Needs to prove that was no fluke.

Little encouragement to glean in novice/handicap hurdles. Has rejoined former yard and a first-time tongue tie applied but hard to enthuse over.

Showed the benefit of a recent run and seemed to stay the longer trip when 2¼ lengths fourth of 12 to Queens Venture in handicap at Market Rasen (23.1f, good) last week. Hard to see him turning the tables with that rival but could well make the frame.

Long-standing maiden who shaped like a non-stayer upped in trip when only seventh at Fontwell (25.8f, good) last time. More required.

Remains a maiden, but with a visor refitted she fared better from her reduced mark on both starts at Market Rasen this summer. Entirely possible she needed the run at Perth (20.2f, soft) 4 weeks ago and now has Brian Hughes taking over in the saddle.

Forecasts

Queens Venture (2/1), Just Chasing May (5/1), Court Cian (6/1), Fashionelle (13/2), Gone In Sixty (11/1), Zuul (12/1), Stuti (12/1), Grass's Jet (12/1), Lenebane (18/1), Spitfire Bridge (20/1), Mademewhatiam (33/1), Lord Warburton (33/1)

Verdict

QUEENS VENTURE made a mockery of an opening mark of 91 at Market Rasen last week and with plenty more to offer, Dan Skelton's 4-y-o is strongly fancied to follow up under a penalty. Just Chasing May looked one to follow in opening his account in thoroughly dominant fashion at Uttoxeter in the summer, so he heads up the dangers on return, with Fashionelle and Stuti another couple worth considering, too.
