Stuart Burton 60th Birthday Handicap Hurdle

Bumper winner and quickly translated that ability to hurdles, winning a 2m Kempton maiden last Christmas. Only mid-division in a Sandown handicap final start but it was a warm race and every chance he'll resume his progression this season. Much respected with yard among the winners.

Five-time winner over hurdles but latest success in this sphere was gained back in December 2020 and he ran creditably only once from 4 outings last season. Given a chance by the handicapper but others have less to prove.

Won a 2m Ludlow maiden on heavy last winter. Finished narrowly behind Court In The Act when tenth of 20 in Sandown handicap final start. Stable going quite well. Respected on return to action.

Useful on the Flat for Aidan O'Brien earlier in his career but only fair form over hurdles, finally coming good in a Fakenham maiden in March. Disappointed in a handicap at Ayr the following month. Has had wind surgery ahead of reappearance.

A bit hit and miss but very much on a going day when scoring over C&D in July. Only a respectable third at Stratford last time, though.

Multiple winner for Tom George and back to form for Nick Kent lately, winning a course handicap (18.5f, good to firm) 17 days ago. Raised 5 lb but retains handicapping scope on his best form.

Fairly useful Flat for this yard. Should have scope off this mark over hurdles judged on that ability and he can have a line put through last week's Ludlow handicap debut as his saddle slipped, although there wasn't obviously any confidence behind him in the betting (22/1).

Fair Flat winner who opened his account over hurdles at the third attempt in maiden at Sedgefield (17f) on Boxing Day. Placed in a handicap hurdle/chase subsequently but his recent efforts under both codes have been disappointing.
