Latest win over C&D in August. Good second of 12 in handicap (40/1) at Pontefract (8f, good to firm) 10 days ago, running on to be nearest at the finish. One of the likelier types returned to this shorter trip.

4/1
Course winner. Thirteen runs since last win in 2023. Bit below form fourth of 12 in handicap at this course (6.1f, 5/1) 25 days ago, plugging on final 1f. Cheekpieces/tongue tie go back on and he's lurking on a handy mark if putting it all together.

Winner at Pontefract in June. 22/1, fifteenth of 18 in handicap at York (6f, soft) 21 days ago, weakening 2f out. Remains unexposed on an artificial surface and no surprise to see him bounce back with a visor now the headgear of choice.

Lightly-raced winner. 7/1, career best when winning 8-runner handicap at Kempton (7f) 25 days ago, driven out. Remains less exposed than most and he could yet have more to offer. Player.

Fairly useful maiden for Freddie & Martyn Meade but matched that level in trio of starts for present stable, well held twelfth of 14 in handicap at Windsor (10f, good) back in April. Needs to hit the ground running back from a break.

9/2, not seen to best effect once more when eighth of 12 in handicap at Haydock (7f, good) 23 days ago, getting gap over 1f out but no extra last ½f. Mark has eased further and she's not one to write off.

Acquitted himself well in a handful of starts for new yard prior to a lesser display when ninth of 12 in handicap (12/1) at this course (8.1f) 3 days ago. Rates a likely type to bounce back and both previous victories have come at this trip. Blinkers back on.

Nineteen runs since last win in 2021. Fourth of 7 in handicap at this C&D (28/1) in April. Feasible to think this first start for 170 days will be needed.

Forecasts

Petra Celera (10/3), King David (7/2), Shalaa Asker (4/1), Airshow (11/2), Embarked (13/2), Flowstate (8/1), No Nay Nicki (9/1), Travis (10/1), Biplane (22/1), Vecchio (50/1), Heavenly Fire (150/1), Theotherside (200/1)

Verdict

C&D winner PETRA CELERA produced another sound effort and was beaten only by one taking a significant drop in class at Pontefract (1m) 10 days ago. The return to this trip will hold no fears and she's one of the likelier types with Billy Loughnane in the plate. Kempton-scorer King David is easily one of the least exposed and feared along with Airshow. Shalaa Asker is another to keep an eye on.
