Hasn't always looked to relish a battle but he's highly talented and quickened up in good style when the gap came to lead late on in Glorious Goodwood Group 3 a fortnight ago. A 3 lb penalty is unlikely to prevent him making a bold bid.

Smart performer who was a creditable second in a York Group 3 prior to failing to stay 2m in the Goodwood Cup 18 days ago. Twice runner-up at Group 3 level at this track. Should go well back at shorter.

Smart performer who won a pair of Group 3s last year. Creditable fourth under a big weight in a Newcastle handicap on New Year's Day but he's been well below par since, including last month's debut for a new yard at Sandown. Has a tongue tie refitted.

Nathaniel filly who made all in this contest 12 months ago and confirmed that was no fluke when following up in similar style in Park Hill at Doncaster. Easy to forgive final 2023 start but needs to leave behind an underwhelming reappearance at Goodwood in May. Has had a breathing operation.

Has progressed into a very useful performer this year, finishing placed in the King George Handicap at Royal Ascot (firm) before going down by only ¾ length in French listed race last month. A bigger performance will be needed to go close here, though.
