Fairly useful in bumpers and has won each of her 3 starts over hurdles, suited by emphasis on speed when landing a Grade 2 mares' novice at the Festival here (16.8f, soft) last month. That form looks very strong (second and fourth have both won Grade 1s since) and she remains open to improvement.

Successful sole start between the flags and created a good impression on hurdles debut at Hereford in January. Disappointing next time but back on track following a wind op when making all at Huntingdon (20.7f, good to soft) and she's a live each-way candidate. Yard also saddles Take No Chances.

Listed bumper winner who got off the mark over hurdles with her sights lowered in a 13-runner novice at Ludlow in November. Not in the same next 2 starts, though, and she was well beaten in this race 12 months ago.

12/1
Southwell bumper winner who looked good when winning her first 2 outings over hurdles. Not seen to best effect when third in a 19f Haydock listed novice in December but ran poorly at Sandown last time and the addition of a tongue strap will need to have a positive effect if she's to take this.

50/1
Fairly useful bumper winner who put her experience to good use in a first-time tongue strap when winning 9-runner novice at Carlisle (2½m, soft) on hurdles bow in October. By no means disgraced back from a break in listed company at Doncaster and while this is tougher, she remains with potential.

Bumper winner on this card last year and clearly going the right way in this sphere, having no trouble landing the odds when getting off the mark at Musselburgh (19.8f, soft) last time. Doesn't look out of place at this level, particularly with further progress likely.

Showed fair form on 2 of her 4 starts in bumpers in Ireland but offered little on hurdles/yard debut at Ascot in December.

Dual winner last May who quickly revived after a couple of lesser displays when landing a Hereford handicap in good style in November. Nothing at all wrong with her 3 subsequent efforts in defeat and she's another who has to enter calculations from an each-way perspective.

Ran no sort of a race in the Lingfield novice won by Aston Martini in January but she's otherwise unbeaten over hurdles, making it 3-4 in this sphere when bouncing back with a solid performance at Kempton (2m, good to soft). Shapes as though she'll stay this trip and should make her presence felt.

Forecasts

Golden Ace (4/9), Lightening Mahler (15/2), Wyenot (10/1), Little Miss Dante (12/1), Aston Martini (12/1), Take No Chances (12/1), Ooh Betty (14/1), Micks Jet (16/1), Lilting Verse (18/1), My Chiquita (20/1), Mellificent (50/1), Oneforthefairgreen (200/1)

Verdict

Several promising types on show but there is nevertheless a standout candidate in GOLDEN ACE, who took a significant step forward when making it 3-3 over hurdles in a Grade 2 novice at the Festival. That form has already been significantly boosted, with the second and fourth (Brighterdaysahead and Jade de Grugy) both winning Grade 1s since. Take No Chances is second choice ahead of stablemate Lightening Mahler, while Micks Jet, Ooh Betty and Wyenot all make each-way appeal.
