Runner-up in the 2022 Triumph and having come up short in a brace of Grade 1 chases, he was better than ever when landing Red Mills Trial Hurdle at Gowran last time by ½ length from Sharjah, rallying well having been headed briefly. Well worth a go at this trip for handicap debut.

Not the force of old (Grade 1 novice chase winner) and hard to get excited by what he's achieved over both sets of obstacles this season. Drops in trip and higher in the weights over hurdles, so others more persuasive.

Landed sustained gamble switched to Britain on the Flat at Haydock in August and put away for 2 months after, he duly followed up in the Cesarewitch. Shaped quite well both hurdles starts since and his inflated mark is fully justified. One for the shortlist for very shrewd yard. Cheekpieces back on.

Useful performer on the Flat and was an improved model in handicap hurdles last spring, winning at Newbury and Sandown for Paul Nicholls. Just fair efforts in a brace of valuable staying handicaps on the level for Willie Mullins and current mark doesn't appear to be generous.

Very useful chaser who won twice back hurdling in 2022, latterly at Newbury (20.5f) in November. Superb effort when edged out in the Lanzarote Hurdle in January though 5 lb rise demands another personal best from him.

Very smart chaser/high-class hurdler in his pomp and first signs of positive life for a while when a keeping-on third in Grade 2 Boyne Hurdle at Navan last time. This is a belated handicap debut and his task is to build on that effort with a tongue tie on for the first time.

Suffered heavy defeat in this race from 4 lb lower a year ago but has run right up to form in 3 of 4 outings this season, finding only one too good in a valuable 3m contest at Sandown last month. Very likeable type but could be vulnerable to improvers.

Useful juvenile last term and made an encouraging return to action when third of 17 in 2m Fairyhouse handicap at the beginning of December (heavy). Ground was totally different when well held in the Betfair Hurdle and dangerous to rule out this unexposed 5-y-o up in trip for top connections.

No serious impact having contested this race in 2021 and 2022 and last month's Boyne Hurdle performance was hardly brimming with promise.

Maiden/novice winner at Punchestown last season and took form to a whole new level when second of 19 (to San Salvador) in a handicap at that venue in December. Long way clear of the third that day and presumably saved for this, which makes him a strong contender.

High-end bumper performer who looked a long way ahead of his mark when an easy winner at Ascot in February 2022. Well prepared on the back of 6 months off when adding to his tally at Carlisle in October and 3m probably stretched him at Haydock 3 weeks later. Off since and back in trip. Interesting.

Fourth in the Fred Winter a year ago and arrives on the back of a big career best when landing 13-runner handicap at Navan on first crack at 20f in January. British assessor has had his say but he's unexposed over this sort of trip and his limit hasn't been reached.

Failed to convince over fences but in top hands and was expertly prepared to gain second hurdles win at Naas in November. Fair fifth back at 2m a month later but his mark looks a shade too high.

Well clear of the rest when second to Galopin des Champs in 2021 Martin Pipe and brought down early when favourite for that race last year. Landed a big handicap at Aintree after, and while his 3 runs this term have hardly been brimming with promise, this very much his season target.

Point/bumper winner who quickly made up into a borderline useful novice hurdler last season. Already better over fences, winning twice during the winter, and much depends on whether he can translate that form back over the smaller obstacles. Cheekpieces fitted for first time.

Big-field handicap winner in January 2022. Peaks and troughs since, strong at the finish for Flat win in October and mid-field in a deeper 3m handicap on return from a short break last month.

Great start for this yard, runner-up 3 times prior to deservedly getting his head back in front at Musselburgh (2½m) on New Year's Day. The placed horses in that race performed well since and he did his bit for the form when landing Morebattle Hurdle at Kelso 11 days ago. Chases £100,000 bonus.

Smart effort to win a big-field handicap at the Punchestown Festival last spring but didn't take to fences on return to action in November and well held completed starts over hurdles since. Now finds himself 2 lb lower than when fourth in this race a year ago and he's been well backed for this.

Major strides in a trio of handicaps during the second half of 2022, runner-up at Cork prior to going one place better at Punchestown (with Captain Conby 1¾ lengths back) in December. Off since and he is prone to the odd mistake but he demands consideration.

Fitted with a tongue tie and made the most of a good opening when doubling hurdles tally in 6-runner minor race at Punchestown in November. That wasn't a strong race but he matched that form when sixth back in handicap company at Leopardstown last month. Upped markedly in distance (can pull hard).

Hasn't stood much racing and still looked in need of the run when well held at Leopardstown last month. Represents shrewd yard and certainly not out of it on the level he showed when winning at Punchestown in December 2021 if he stays this longer trip. Cheekpieces and tongue tie on first time.

Useful novice, completing hat-trick in 8-runner Grade 3 at Thurles last month. This is a different environment but he looks pretty professional, is in top hands and a good test of stamina over this trip will suit.

Novice who didn't need to improve to land 6-runner contest at Thurles last month. Handicap winner in November but this asks a totally question of him at this stage of his career.

Useful novice hurdler (won Grade 2) and sound start over fences when second in 4-runner event at Ayr in October. Things haven't gone to plan since, though he looked threatening on the back of a breathing op when falling in well-contested handicap hurdle at Kelso 11 days ago.

Won 4 of first 5 starts and looked a smart performer in the making. Missed 13 months though and heavy defeat both outings in handicaps in December. Lot to prove now.

Useful hurdler/chaser who returned to something like his best to end losing run on return at Ayr (20.5f) in October. Better effort since when third of 11 in 3m Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster, despite looking laboured, but not in the same form at Kelso since. Slightly lower in the weights over timber.

Any number to consider but RUN FOR OSCAR is just about the most persuasive option having improved into a very useful stayer on the Flat during the second half of 2022. He was also better than the result on both hurdles outings since and, representing a yard with very few peers in handicaps, he looks the way to go with cheekpieces back on. Captain Conby has presumably been saved for this and he's open to lots of progress, with Good Risk At All perhaps the pick of the British contenders.
