Surprise winner of this in 2018 and took his chance in the next 3 renewals, beaten over 5 lengths when seventh 12 months ago. Not the easiest to predict nowadays but returned with 7f handicap win at Newmarket and backed that up with excellent second off top weight in Victoria Cup (7f) here.

Top-class colt who won all 6 of his starts last season, notably the Prix du Moulin de Longchamp and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes over C&D. Better than ever when stretching his unbeaten record to 7 in Lockinge at Newbury on return and this looks a penalty kick for him.

Smart colt who resumed with comfortable win in 1m listed race at Doncaster. Backed that up with a very good third of 9 to Baaeed and Real World in Lockinge Stakes (20/1) at Newbury but little reason to think he can beat them here.

Tough, prominent runner who won the Breeders’ Cup Mile as a 3-y-o. Group 2 win at the Curragh was his only success last season but was placed in a couple of Group 1s in France. Beaten 6 lengths in this on his return last year. Off 8 months. Tongue strap on 1st time.

High-class horse who made it 5 wins on the bounce in Group 2 at Meydan in January. Struggled on the dirt next 2 starts but was back to his best switched to the turf when 3¼ lengths second to Baaeed in Lockinge Stakes at Newbury last month, albeit no match for the winner. Can follow him home again.

Winless since the Silver Hunt Cup over C&D 2 years ago but produced a career best when third in this 12 months ago. Ran as well as expected when 6¼ lengths fifth of 9 to Baaeed in Lockinge Stakes at Newbury last time. Firmly up against it again.

Produced a smart effort to bolt up in Pontefract listed event (1m, soft) last summer and returned better than ever when a narrow but rather fortunate winner of a Group 2 at Sandown (1m) in April. Much more on her plate now.

Forecasts

Baaeed (1/6), Real World (15/2), Order Of Australia (18/1), Chindit (25/1), Lights On (33/1), Sir Busker (50/1), Accidental Agent (66/1)

Verdict

BAAEED extended his unbeaten run with no difficulty when slamming Real World by 3¼ lengths in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury on his return last month, producing the sort of performance rarely seen at this trip in Britain since the days of Frankel, so he's very hard to oppose in a race of similar quality. Real World can follow the selection home again, with Order of Australia best of the others.
