Three wins in productive 2-y-o campaign, including 1m Pontefract listed on heavy. Ran as well as could be expected when sixth to Hurricane Lane in Dante at York This more suitable.

Found a chunk of improvement to gain a second success in 1m2f handicap at Newmarket in May. Ran creditably from 5 lb higher in London Gold Cup at Newbury, though was suited by way race developed.

Improved further to land his third race of the campaign in 16-runner handicap at the Curragh (8f, heavy) 27 days ago, again showing an excellent attitude. Should give another good account.

Very much a colt on the up, following up his Chester maiden win in comfortable fashion at Lingfield (10f) 25 days ago. Will go on improving, and looks to have been allotted a handy opening mark.

Ran out a convincing winner of 1m Dundalk maiden on return. Good second in conditions event next time but needs to cast aside a lesser effort in first-time cheekpieces on Navan handicap debut latest

Is progressing gradually, making a successful start in handicaps in 6-runner event at Haydock (10.2f) 10 days ago, though was well positioned, so will need more now in a better-quality affair.

Half-brother to high-class Dream of Dreams, and made his third start a winning one with the minimum of fuss at Hamilton (8.3f) 48 days ago. Into handicaps now and remains with plenty of potential.

Confirmed debut promise when winning Newbury maiden (1m) in April. Well backed but failed to meet expectations in Dee Stakes at Chester next time, seeming unsuited by track. Worth another chance.

Small-field maiden win at Pontefract backed up by the clock and has found only one too good both handicap starts since, not getting the rub of the green at Epsom last time. Remains of interest.

Runner-up at Doncaster sole 2-y-o start and duly went one better when landing a Windsor maiden by 8 lengths on return. Well held up in grade at Goodwood but could get back on track now handicapping.

Won first 2 starts at up to this trip. Well beaten in Sandown Classic Trial but quickly back to winning ways in cheekpieces on Newcastle handicap bow last time. Blinkers now the choice of headgear.

Comfortably landed the odds second time up in 1m novice at Lingfield in February. Went down fighting under a penalty against another good prospect since and further progress not ruled out up in trip.

Verdict

ALFAADHEL is a colt very much on the up and looks to have been allotted a handy opening mark, so he's put forward as the answer. King Frankel has made a bright start to life in handicaps and remains one to keep on the right side of, as does Fantastic Fox, who scored as his rider liked at Hamilton last time.
