Given a considerate ride when fourth on debut at Fairyhouse and reaped the benefit of that when landing 11-runner maiden a week later at Listowel (6.3f). Drops back in trip.

Put experience to good use when making third start a winning one at Navan in May. That form is pretty ordinary in the context of this.

Saw off a promising newcomer when landing the odds on third start at Cork a month ago (6f). Drops back in trip with a tongue tie on and hard to rule out further improvement.

Runner-up on debut at Newbury in April. Unable to build on that twice since and this looks too hot.

Landed a gamble on debut at Doncaster (5f) in April, beating only 3 rivals but tanking through the race in a good time. Bred to be useful and may leave bare form behind.

Half-brother to 6f winners Caspian Queen and Excel Power. Overcame inexperience to make a winning debut at Chelmsford in April. Matched that form when runner-up under a penalty at Redcar.

€55,460 yearling, Mehmas colt. Knew his job when making winning start at Lingfield (6f, AW) 3 weeks ago, and while he's entitled to build on that, this is a big ask.

Bred to be sharp and justified support in the style of a potentially useful juvenile on debut at Musselburgh (5f). Could only match that form when fifth in listed National Stakes at Sandown.

Plenty of stamina on dam's side of the pedigree but he got the job done in good style over the minimum trip starting out at Beverley. Off 7 weeks and caught close home at Musselburgh.

Decisive winner of the Brocklesby and took a big step forward when following up in 4-runner 5f Ascot contest, clocking good time in the process. Soft ground perhaps a factor in National Stakes run.

Strong in the betting and made no mistake in 9-runner maiden at Brighton starting out in April. That wasn't a deep race and he was too green to land a significant blow in the Woodcote.

Shaped well when third at Ripon and clearly derived plenty from that run as he caused a bit of an upset in a novice at Nottingham (good timefigure). Runner-up in the Woodcote and now back at 5f.

Forecasts

Ruthin (3/1), Dig Two (7/1), Kaboo (15/2), Golden Bell (8/1), Armor (9/1), Tipperary Sunset (10/1), Amalfi Coast (14/1), Ernie's Valentine (16/1), Boonie (18/1), Superior Force (18/1), Spring Is Sprung (20/1), Chipotle (22/1), Flaming Rib (22/1), Barging Thru (28/1), Albion Square (33/1), Silks Pass (40/1), Home City (50/1), Admiral D (50/1), Robasta (50/1), Bond Chairman (66/1), Guilded (66/1), Bicep (66/1), Amazonian Dream (80/1), Poderoso (125/1), Royal Emerther (125/1), Lord Gorgeous (125/1), Dusky Prince (150/1), Freyabella (250/1)

Verdict

RUTHIN certainly hasn't been missed in the market but with good reason given the impression she created when hammering 9 rivals on debut at Keeneland (runner-up won next time). She may have too much raw pace for these, with Dig Two looking the pick of the home contingent. At much longer odds, Silks Pass could easily leave the form he achieved at Redcar well behind.

  1. RUTHIN
  2. DIG TWO (IRE)
  3. SILKS PASS
