Formerly smart sort who ran some excellent races in defeat last term. Defeated by only a neck on seasonal return over C&D. Up 2lb but deserves plenty of respect.

Useful handicapper who has found the winning groove again recently, including career best 4L victory at Naas (6f) in March. Not seen since but does go well fresh. Hiked up 10lb in the handicap.

Very lightly raced for her age but has won twice. Never on terms but ran with credit when 4L eighth on return from 309-day layoff at this track (5f) and entitled to improve on that.

Useful enough handicapper in Britain when trained by Jonathan Portman, but culminated spell there with 19L defeat at Newbury (6f) in October. Best watched on Irish/stable debut.

Usually does well on quicker ground but last win came on the AW on penultimate start. Not entirely disgraced when fourth on seasonal bow at Naas (6f) in March but not seen since. May need this.

Enjoyed a profitable spell on the AW during the winter and started turf season in solid form. Ran well off inflated mark over C&D last month. Up 2lb once more but no reason why he cannot progress again.

Typically goes well when fresh, and showed that wellbeing when 1L second in 6f Naas handicap last month. Harshly penalised 3lb for that however so a little more is required.

Has a long losing streak of present and did shape well for a long way before finishing 4L sixth in Dundalk handicap (6f) in January. Absent since. Best watched on return.

Has had a career blighted by injuries and looked in need of the effort when 17th of 18 in 1m Naas handicap last month. Form is very limited and makes no appeal on paper.

C&D winner. Usually runs to his mark and started the season in that same vein of form when third at Naas (6f) last month. Should go on again and holds obvious claims.

C&D winner last August and started the season well when close third over C&D. Not as good since, albeit beaten 5L in 5f handicap at this venue last time. Return to this trip should suit better.

Only raced three times to date and got better with each start, culminating with game victory in 5f Navan maiden last time. Opening handicap mark is workable and remains unexposed. On the shortlist.

One win from four career starts so far. Bounced back from poor opening showing in this sphere when narrow second over C&D last month. Up 5lb since but still remains unexposed at this level.

Not the most straightforward sort. Held every chance but could only find little when 5L eighth on return at Navan (5f, yielding) last week. Others have more appeal in this.

First reserve. Has yet to win in busy career but typically runs well, including when defeated by 2L in Leopardstown handicap (7f) when last seen in October. Place claims if sneaking in.

Verdict

A handicap in which seasoned professional meet some unexposed sorts, preference is for the previous type with BLAIRMAYNE. The seven year old proved to be a model of consistency, winning two C&D in the process, last season and remains on a very winnable mark. At the top of the weights, Ardhoomey gives the race a class edge and should be expected to run his usual solid race, while the likes of Illetas has a workable opening mark, and Flaming Moon may not have hit his limit either, despite being whacked with a 5lb rise for a good C&D run last time out.
  1. Blairmayne
  2. Ardhoomey
  3. Illetas
