Yard going fairly well with 2yo's (have plenty of ammunition); 40,000gns yearling, half-brother to winners Ghayadh (useful winner at up to 1m) and Raaghib; dam 7f winner, newcomer who ought to have a part to play given his connections.
Inexpensive yearling €2,800, first foal, dam French 1m2f winner, half-sister to French Derby winner New Bay. Only second 2yo runner of the season for this yard who have fairly limited success in this sphere; likely to find this too competitive.

Form of the yard's 2yo's has picked up in recent days after earlier struggles; €130,000 yearling, first foal, dam useful French winner at up to 1m2f (2yo 1m2f winner). Runs for powerful connections, one to consider if the market vibes are positive.
Yard could hardly be in better form since the resumption (30% strike-rate), yet to have a 2yo winner (have well-fancied Isle Of May in 1.05). Half-brother to three winners, including 5f-7f winner Lahore, dam 2yo 1m winner, has to be considered.

Forecasts

Seventh Kingdom (6/5), Longlai (5/2), Codebook (11/4), Whyzzat (10/1), Eagle Eyed Freddie (16/1)

Verdict

No form to go on amongst the quartet that go to post but three of the four stables represented have to be respected in the juvenile sphere. If John Gosden hasn’t broken his 2020 2yo duck in the previous race SEVENTH KINGDOM gives him a good chance of doing so here with the stable in stellar form generally and this son of Frankel has a very attractive pedigree. He’s unlikely to have things all his own way though with both Codebook and Longlai coming from stables which are adept with juveniles and have pedigrees that suggest they will enjoy this 7f trip.
  1. Seventh Kingdom
  2. Longlai
  3. Codebook
