Shamardal colt (150,000gns yearling); second foal from an unraced half-sister to the Oaks heroine Love Devine; on pedigree should prove fairly versatile in terms of trip anywhere between 1m and 1m4f.

First foal (€75,000 yearling) from a half-sister to the 1m Listed winner Law Of The Range; likely to find one or two of these opponents sharper; one for the future.

Gleneagles colt who fetched €50,000 as a yearling, yet was knocked down unraced for a much reduced 11,000gns in the autumn of 2019; half-brother to the 6f-7f AW winner Tivoli.

Frankel colt; half-brother to four winners, including the German Group 3 scorer Lacy (1m-1m3f); cost his high profile owners 375,000gns as a yearling, but toiled after fluffing the start on his racecourse debut (Yarmouth, 7f).

Sea The Stars colt (€175,000 foal) from a French dam (winner over 1m-1m1f); tenth foal; half-brother to four winners, including Espero (1m-1m2f) and Queen's Daughter (7f-1m Listed).

€31,000 foal, 200,000gns yearling; fourth foal from an unraced dam who was a half-sister to the 1m5f Group 3 winner Census; half-brother to the truly versatile French winner Jackson En Bois (5f-1m5f); stablemate of My Oberon.

Dubawi colt; first foal from the 7f Group 3 juvenile winner My Titania (who was also a half-sister to the speedball Muthmir); very interesting to see how he fares in the market exchanges compared to stablemate Ilaraab.

Golden Horn gelding (325,000gns foal) with a most appealing middle-distance pedigree; easy to back when hitting the crossbar (second) in a 1m Newcastle novice - third, fourth and fifth placed horses have all won since; major chance.

Dubawi colt from the French 1,000 Guineas winner Zenda; 12th foal; half-brother to the mighty Kingman and Remote amongst others; is massively respected on debut for the ever feared Gosden/Dettori combination.

Second foal from the 1m4f winner Madame Vestris; it's difficult to envisage him troubling the judge on debut in a race with such depth; clearly it's far safer to look elsewhere for the solution.

Forecasts

Sunray Major (8/11), Montather (3/1), Spectrum Of Light (7/2), Boss Power (13/2), Duel In The Sun (12/1), My Oberon (16/1), Ilaraab (33/1), A'shamardi (33/1), Alpin King (50/1), Ruby Red Empress (50/1), Bandoss (66/1), Vitellio Scarpia (150/1)

Verdict

William Haggas is doubly represented with the newcomers Ilaraab and My Oberon so it's plausible to expect the market exchanges to hold relevant clues with regards that particular pair, while Kingman's half-brother Sunray Major must also enter the thought process for Messers' Gosden and Dettori. However, experience should hold sway with the penalised Chelmsford winner Montather topping the bill alongside the Golden Horn gelding SPECTRUM OF LIGHT. The Godolphin-owned runner was easy to back when hitting the crossbar on debut at Newcastle in December, but that race has worked out incredibly well since (with the third, fourth and fifth all subsequent winners).
