Only defeat and below-par run came on handicap debut (Britannia) last year at Royal Ascot. Soon made amends scoring twice on better ground impressing when last seen at Doncaster over this trip; looks the ideal sort this yard improve with age.
Three-time winner in France before moving to this yard and for the most part looking highly tried. Showed himself better than ever when taking a Deauville AW Listed contest late last year over an extended 1m1f; below=par since then, looks vulnerable.
Lightly-raced last year, season appeared to come to an abrupt end after dominating a Doncaster 1m2f handicap on quick ground taking on elders for the first time. Won easily, upped 10lb to career-high mark, player if primed for his return.
Resumed winning ways at Yarmouth last August (won same race previous year), the seaside venue the scene of all his four triumphs. Confirmed the impression that he needs careful handling when runner-up in next two races; one to treat with caution.
Already a dual AW winner this year (had the run of the race both times, possibly flattered); found out on his latest outing when finishing last of four at Wolverhampton. Now has to prove himself off this mark back on turf dropping back in distance.
Yard look in rude health since the resumption; scored twice in handicaps last year off a significantly higher mark the second time. Starting to look the finished article when third in the Cambridgeshire off this mark; won't be far away on that form.
Gelded since his last start he's bred to improve with age and he could well build on his sound 3yo campaign that yielded two wind over 1m2f/1m4f. Best effort in defeat when second to Good Birthday at Beverley (2lb better off for 1/2L); respected.
Two laboured efforts this year in Listed/Group 3 company on the AW have failed to signal a return to form. 9lb lower than when last seen in a handicap the assessor has cut him some slack but on current form its hard to see him take advantage.

As you would expect from a handicap of this ilk there are some progressive types in this led by DAVYDENKO from the Stoute yard who are enjoying a good spell since racing resumed. The son of Intello looks just the sort who this yard improve and he could progress out of handicaps if successful off this mark. Good Birthday is a similar sort and he denied Desert Icon at Beverley before an excellent placed effort in the Cambridgeshire over 1m1f on this track, his yard are also in good form. Protected Guest has his quirks (often fails to deliver) and can he’s away from his beloved Yarmouth. Preference would be for the returning West End Charmer especially if he is allowed to control the pace.
