Yard yet to have a 2yo winner (limited evidence); £40,000 yearling, second foal, half-brother to useful 2yo 5f winner Bomb Proof. Dam 1m2f winner, half-sister to smart winner Spoil The Fun, looks an unlikely winner against some big stables.
Yard yet to have a 2yo winner this year (all have run well), generally very good with newcomers. 220,000gns yearling, fifth foal, half-brother to three winners including the useful Epsom Icon (2yo 7f winner), one of two the yard run in this event.

Trainer capable of preparing a 2yo newcomer but 0-9 with their debutantes in 2020. £30,000 yearling, fourth foal, half-brother to a winner on the continent Showmethegin. Dam 5f-6f winner including as a 2yo, looks the second string on rider bookings.

£82,000 yearling, half-brother to several winners, including Shamwari Lodge (winner at up to 1m, also 2yo 6f winner). Dam a maiden, stable still searching for first 2yo winner this year, looks to be the stable selected of the two they run in this.
Yard's first 2yo winner of the year beaten at Lingfield yesterday but have a near 19% strike-rate with first-time juveniles. Half-brother to five Flat winners including high class 2yo winner Teofilo; dam 1m winner, one of four representing this ownership.

First 2yo runner of the season for a yard that have a poor strike rate (less than 4% with juveniles newcomers). 60,000gns yearling, 11th foal, half-brother to four winners; dam 1m winner, looks up against it given record of the yard in this sphere.

One of two for a yard that have already captured two 2yo events with newcomers. 100,00gns yearling, sixth foal, half-brother to 5f/6f winner Came From The Dark, dam Group-placed 7f winner, interesting to see which of the yard's duo is favoured.

£40,000 yearling, first foal, dam lightly-raced maiden (placed over 6f at 2yo's), half-sister to smart winners Gallagher and Quick Wit. Yard 2-5 with 2yo newcomers this year; interesting he attracted some early interest in the betting markets.

One of the quartet that run for Godolphin (yard have an excellent record with 2yo newcomers). Third foal, dam ran twice in France, half-sister to 1m 2yo Group 1 winner Ultra. Yard's colts said to be more advanced than fillies, also run Noble Dynasty.

Dubawi colt who cost 3,600,000gns as a yearling (top price in Europe); half-brother to some very smart sorts including Barney Roy (7f-1m1f winner at 2). Clearly bred to be smart and in good hands for his debut giving Godolphin a strong hand in this.

Noble Dynasty (5/2), Modern News (4/1), Future Vision (5/1), Haseef (7/1), Rainbow Fire (8/1), Barber Of Seville (10/1), Astimegoesby (11/1), Imperial Yellow (16/1), Cooperation (18/1), Burristo (33/1), Gordonstoun (33/1), Glowing For Gold (100/1)

Verdict

With four of the trainers doubly represented and four Godolphin representatives (spread between three trainers) and no form to go on this isn’t an attractive betting proposition. Seven of this field were also on the BHA list of horses that were exempt from balloting. That suggests it could be a warm heat and the expensive (3.6m gns) Dubawi half-brother to Barney Roy NOBLE DYNASTY gets a token vote. The Gosden pair (both by Kodiac) Barber Of Seville and Rainbow Fire give the trainer a strong hand with the trainer of the selection (Charlie Appleby) having a strong second string in Modern News. Roger Varian (already off the mark with 2yo’s) adds further depth via Haseef and Imperial Yellow.

  3. Imperial Yellow
