Oaks entry who did everything right when winning on debut over 1m at Kempton in December. Bred to appreciate this longer trip and should go well although has to give 7lb away to all her rivals.

27,000gns Sea The Stars filly out of maiden dam who raced at up to 1m. Originally sold for 70,000gns as a foal so drop in sales price tempers enthusiasm.

€67,000 daughter of Intello out of French winner at up to 1m2f. Dam half-sister to Group 1 winner so looks the part on paper and decent display on debut cannot be ruled out for yard that does so well with fillies.

Sixties Icon filly out of a 1m2f winning dam. Half-sister to five individual winners over a variety of trips up to 2m. May well prove better for this first racecourse experience.

Interesting on paper being by high-class Gleneagles out of a dam who has produced a 2000 Guineas third and two decent staying types. Yard 1-18 at this venue in similar events but worth noting for any betting market confidence.

Nathaniel filly out of dam who has produced seven individual winners including full sister and Group 3 scorer Precious Ramotswe. Represents top connections so looks one for the short list with yard already on the scoreboard.
Camelot filly who cost 70,000gns and is out of a sprinting dam. Mixed messages on pedigree but ran well for much of the trip when third of 7 in Chelmsford 1m2f maiden in March. Experience a bonus but may find a few too good once again.

Well bred Pivotal filly who is half-sister to smart Group 1 winner Old Persian and represents top connections. Looks the part on paper and holds Irish Oaks entry so has to be feared despite lack of racecourse experience.

Forecasts

Delta's Royalty (7/4), Renaissance Queen (3/1), Jane Marple (11/2), My Girl Maggie (6/1), Immortal Beloved (14/1), Calm Down (16/1), By Starlight (20/1), Medika (33/1), Gordana (50/1)

Verdict

Charlie Appleby has a 27% strike rate here with his three-year-old maidens and the appealingly bred RENAISSANCE QUEEN can add to that tally despite having never raced before. She has an Irish Oaks entry and would probably need to win her to have any chance of making it to the Curragh. Delta's Royalty won at Kempton over a mile in December her only start and has an Oaks entry. She could be useful and should stay the extra half mile but the concession of 7lb to the selection may be a tough ask. Newcomers Jane Marple and Calm Down make most appeal of the remainder and could prove above average.
  1. Renaissance Queen
  2. Delta's Royalty
  3. Jane Marple
