Open to improvement after just the three starts but in truth, not much to cheer about after a good debut at Chelmsford back in 2019; needs the first-time cheekpieces to make a big difference.

Has a decent enough record at the track, placed three times from four starts and will he happy enough at this trip if there's a good pace on; gets some blinkers, which might help her dig in a bit better at the business end, and holds an e/w chance.

Was very much going the right way when last seen, finishing second at Lingfield and then winning at Wolverhampton, his first handicap; open to plenty more improvment and despite the moderate draw, has to be considered.

Some promise in a coupel of starts here but that was some tme ago, and he looked liek he was going backwards in his final two starts; a change of headgear today to try and turn things around, but he's clearly risky.

Not disgraced in a couple of her five starts to date, and there is room for her to improve, but she could do with settling a little better and seeing her race out. Not without a chance if she can.

Three starts to date have hardly seen him shine, but since last being seen out he has been gelded, and now gets some headgear, so there are reasons for thinking you might see a different horse today. Market likely the best guide.

Already on third trainer after just the four starts, but there was some promise to be taken from her handicap debut at Chelmsford when upped to 6f; in good hands and if she can build on that, isn't without a chance.

Nice looker that wasn't disgraced on her second start at Sandown, but threw in two moderate efforts either side of that; early days though, and she starts off life in handicaps on a basement mark, so could easily do better.

Plenty of promise to be taken from her two starts to date, and under the new rules that's enough to get her a mark; open to plenty of improvement, is nicely drawn and looks one of the main contenders on paper.

Was starting to get the hang of things before the enforced break and was only ½l behind Rocketeer at Wolverhampton, a run that gives him a clearl chance if repeating; well drawn and has a solid chance here.

Made some late progress into midfield on her latest start at Wolverhampton withoiut ever threatening, but goes into handicaps on a very low mark and if she's any ability, ought to be capable of getting into the shake-up in a winnable event.

Lightning Blue223
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: Charles Bishop| T: M R Channon| OR:  56

Sent off big prices all three starts to date, showing little; handicaps at least offers her something more realistic but at this stage, not hard to look elsewhere for the winner.

Forecasts

Spurofthemoment (9/2), Shymay (9/2), Gigi's Beach (11/2), Rodney Le Roc (6/1), Eye Smiling (13/2), My Sister Jo (10/1), Rocketeer (10/1), Sparkling Diamond (14/1), Jungle Boogaloo (25/1), Lightning Blue (28/1), Gift Of Youth (28/1), Trigger Happy (50/1)

Verdict

This looks winnable. If Rocketeer was better drawn than he is, he would have been the pick for this, as he was improving when last seen and should have a bit more to offer, but now she goes handicapping it might be worth chancing SPUROFTHEMOMENT, who showed enough on her second start to think there's races in her. She has the plum draw in stall 1 and is worth chancing. Cases can be made for many of these, and money for either Gigi's Beach or Jungle Boogaloo would need noting.

  2. Rocketeer
