Already a winner at the track, having taken a bumper here last August. Has shown ability in novice hurdles already and his 9l 5th to his useful stablemate Galvin at Ayr in February reads well. Ground no issue and a big player.
Bred to have a bit of speed about him, so this test on quick ground could suit. Only slowly getting the hang of things over hurdles but better at Newcastle last time and step up in trip could help. Place chances if improving a little.
Came good in a maiden Open point-to -point at Ampton last time out but that's only modest form and this is a tough contest to be making your hurdles debut in. Best watched.
Last of three at Market Rasen last time but not beaten far, and might have done better but for some slow jumps. Penny seems to be dropping with him but that form not that strong, and he does need another step today. Conditions fine, though.
Has some form that puts him right in the firing line here, but not the most consistent and really ought to have done better on his latest start. Chance is clear to see, and yard do well here, but not one for maximum faith any more.
Point-to-point form from 2017 reads well enough, and given it was his first start for almost two years at Newcastle recently, it wasn't a bad effort at all. This quicker ground may suit too, and he may go better than likely big odds suggest.
Had ability on the Flat (rated mid-70s at his peak) and has carried that over to hurdles, placed all three starts to date and his form at Haydock last time out reads very well. Will handle this quicker ground and takes high rank among these.
Only moderate form in three bumpers, running to a similar level every time, and is being thrown in in quite a hot little race for hurdles debut. Half-brother to numerous winners though, so may improve a little today.
Forecasts
Braid Blue (1/1), Skiddaw Valleys (11/4), Juge Et Parti (7/2), Imperial Elixir (10/1), Knockoura (20/1), Emirat De Catana (100/1), Lastofthecosmics (100/1), Farran Dancer (100/1), Cons Amigo (150/1)
Braid Blue has to be respected given Gordon Elliott's record here but this does look an excellent opportunity for SKIDDAW VALLEYS to score. His form entitles him to win this and with conditions fine, he can get on top. Juge Et Parti and Imperial Elixir hold chances but at likely bigger prices, don't ignore Knockoura if you're looking for something each-way.
