Last of three finishers on yard debut and pulled up next time. Needs to banish both runs from the memory before entering calculations.

Landed back to back races in December and held every chance when falling at the last on latest start. Dropped in class and will not mind any further rain.

Won on first two attempts under rules over hurdles a year ago but switch to fences hasn't worked out yet and plenty to prove at present. Cheekpieces fitted this afternoon.

Off the mark at the first attempt over fences when taking a 2m5f novices' handicap by a nose on heavy going at Ffos Las. Showed the mischievous side of his character here last time when he looked reluctant to race and headgear now fitted.

Major Hindrance72
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-3| J: Dave Crosse| T: Henry Oliver| OR:  115
11/2
Half-brother to Welsh National winner Monbeg Dude and similarly suited to boggy conditions. Not at his best this term but nicely weighted should conditions turn in his favour.

Age: 7|  Weight: 11-2| J: Bridget Andrews| T: D Skelton| OR:  114| C| D

Twice a winner as a novice last term and managed thirds in three of his four starts this season which hasn't helped handicap wise. Upped in trip now but looked doubtful stayer only previous start over 3m so that the big doubt.

Absolutely Dylan24
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: Danny Cook| T: Mrs S J Smith| OR:  112
3/1
Young horse who has taken well to chasing winning two of his first three starts over the bigger obstacles. Did not jump with his usual fluency last time but he is likely to prove better back at this longer trip.

Forecasts

Lord Getaway (11/4), Absolutely Dylan (3/1), Zamparelli (4/1), Major Hindrance (11/2), Mixchievous (8/1), Louse Talk (9/1), The Winkler (14/1)

Verdict

Absolutely Dylan would have been the selection but for a poor run over shorter last time. Although he has won on heavy he is thought to want better ground and conditions here should be ideal. LORD GETAWAY was unlucky not to complete a hat-trick on his latest start in a better race than this and, as another progressive young chaser, he makes plenty of appeal on a track that should suit. Major Hindrance will need plenty of rain, whilst Zamaparelli will be hoping for drying weather to place less emphasis on stamina. Mixchievous is hard to recommend following his antics last time.
  1. Lord Getaway
  2. Absolutely Dylan
  3. Major Hindrance
