14/1
Runner-up in this race 12 months ago (beaten 1L) and took advantage of same mark latest to win Grand Sefton over National fences at Aintree. 6lb higher now but no reason he can't make presence felt even if others now better treated.
2

Art Mauresque48
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-11| J: H Cobden| T: P F Nicholls| OR:  152
10/1
Often highly tried but rarely disgraced in Graded company. Second in valuable Sodexo Gold Cup at Ascot two starts back in most recent handicap and although 4lb higher here he again has genuine potential to go close.
3
Horse silk
O O Seven42
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-11| J: N de Boinville| T: N J Henderson| OR:  152| CD
9/2
C&D winner last time out when beating Go Conquer by ½L. 5lb higher now but appeals as the sort likely to win such a contest as this so not ruled out by any means especially given connections.
4
Horse silk
Go Conquert42
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-10| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: N A Twiston-Davies| OR:  151| D
8/1
2017 Sodexo Gold Cup winner when trained by Jonjo O'Neill and followed third in that this season with C&D second to O O Seven latest. 1lb better off with rival here so little between them once again and has legitimate claims.
5
Horse silk
Dingo Dollarp56
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-7| J: Wayne Hutchinson| T: A King| OR:  148| CD
3/1
Dual winner as a novice and signed off with second in valuable Ayr handicap. Solid third in the Ladbrokes Trophy last time out after prep over hurdles. Same mark here and makes plenty of appeal even if value largely gone with ante-post gamble.
6
Horse silk
Willie Boyp31
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-4| J: G Sheehan| T: C E Longsdon| OR:  145| D
8/1
First time over 3m today but absolutely bolted up on Boxing Day at Wetherby over 2m3½f. Extra 4½f to contend with and now 9lb higher but looks a handicapper rapidly on the rise so genuine chance if staying the trip.
7
Horse silk
Calipto21
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-2| J: Charlie Deutsch| T: Miss V Williams| OR:  143
10/1
Gained third win over fences latest when quite comfortably landing a 2m4f Wincanton handicap. 5lb rise for that sees him off career high equalling mark and never won beyond 2m4f or run beyond 2m5f so stamina question marks.
8
Horse silk
Brian Boranha97
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-12| J: Henry Brooke| T: P D Niven| OR:  139| D
16/1
Gained third win in last five starts latest when successfully stepping up in trip to 3m5f at Sedgefield. 9lb rise sees him off comfortably career high and this toughest assignment to date but progressive nature means he can't be ignored.
9
Horse silk
On Tour21
Age: 11|  Weight: 10-6| J: Mitchell Bastyan(5)| T: Evan Williams| OR:  133| D
14/1
Back to last winning mark now as he was latest when a sound enough third of 17 in a decent Sandown handicap over this trip albeit he was beaten 19½L. Ground may prove quick enough here so others more compelling.
10
Horse silk
Monbeg River84
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-6| J: Sean Quinlan| T: M Todhunter| OR:  133| C| D
25/1
Previous course winner over 2m3f tired late on over 3m1f last season at Aintree although he still managed third. Only ran once this term when second in a small field Ayr contest but that would have to be improved upon over this questionable trip.

Horse silk
Federicib49
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-3| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr| OR:  130
12/1
Fifth in this race a year ago and 1lb lower this time around. Just the one run this season when a sound enough fifth of 18 over the National Fences at Aintree over 3m2f. Has place potential here but others more obviously well treated.

Forecasts

Dingo Dollar (3/1), O O Seven (9/2), Go Conquer (8/1), Willie Boy (8/1), Calipto (10/1), Art Mauresque (10/1), Federici (12/1), Warriors Tale (14/1), On Tour (14/1), Brian Boranha (16/1), Monbeg River (25/1)

Verdict

Alan King has made no secret that DINGO DOLLAR has been kept for this race since his Ladbrokes Trophy third and the ante-post plunge on him suggests confidence is high that he arrives here on a very handy mark. For such a race there are few rivals with comparable scope for improvement so King's patience can be rewarded. Willie Boy is a fascinating contender now stepped up in trip and if indeed he stays which will largely depend on how freely he races he should play a huge part. O O Seven threatens to win such a contest and is another highly respected.
