Pulled up on final start for previous yard over an extended 2m6f at Uttoxeter (soft) in October last year. Market support would be notable on debut for this stable.

6/1
Good fourth over 2m in a novices' handicap chase on good-to-soft ground here a month ago. Unseated over this C&D subsequently and is one to note in this contest.

Returning from a lengthy absence when finishing fourth in a soft ground C&D contest last time out. Interesting contender racing off a 2lb lower mark.

Fair efforts in two runs since returning from wind surgery. Worth a check in the market with a promising conditional jockey booked to ride on this occasion.

Not beaten far when seventh over 2m on good-to-soft going here last month. Returning from an absence that day and interesting to see if he can back that up.

Winner over 2m3f at Market Rasen (good) in September and put an unseat behind him when finishing runner-up at Warwick (2m4f, good) last time out. Likely to run well once more.
7
Horse silk
Maguire's Glen20
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-5| J: Conor Ring(3)| T: G Harris| OR:  113| D
33/1
Heavy ground winner last term but struggled in a competitive 2m5f handicap hurdle at Cheltenham (good) on seasonal debut last month. This looks a weaker contest.
8
Horse silk
Kerisper72
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-5| J: Jamie Bargary| T: N A Twiston-Davies| OR:  113
33/1
Had just two starts since placing in a 2m7f novice chase at Worcester (good) in September 2016. Probably best watched following a heavy defeat at Perth in September.

33/1
Placed in a 3m2f handicap chase at Newbury (good-to-soft) in December 2016 but pulled up on only start since when debuting for this yard at Ffos Las (3m, heavy) last month.

12/1
Fair fourth over an extended 2m5f at Fontwell (good-to-soft) when making his seasonal reappearance last month. Likely more needed if he's to take this event.

Completed a double when winning over 2m on soft ground here in March. Finished runner-up on all four subsequent starts including over C&D on soft ground last time. Likely to play a leading role.

Age: 6|  Weight: 10-13| J: David Noonan| T: D Pipe| OR:  107
11/1
Pulled up on both starts since wind surgery. Handicap mark is falling as a result and softer ground forecast here may see him in a better light on his return from a break.
13
Horse silk
Top And Drop11
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-2| J: Charlie Deutsch| T: Miss V Williams| OR:  96
16/1
Nine race maiden placed three times over hurdles in 2016. Struggled since switching to fences however and well beaten fourth at Lingfield (2m4f, good-to-soft) last month when returning from a lengthy absence.

Forecasts

Pop Rockstar (7/2), Atirelarigo (11/2), Bennys King (6/1), Oxwich Bay (6/1), Beallandendall (8/1), It's Obvious (11/1), Sandhurst Lad (12/1), Llancillo Lord (14/1), Top And Drop (16/1), West Wizard (16/1), Maguire's Glen (33/1), Kerisper (33/1), Conas Taoi (33/1)

Verdict

BEALLANDENDALL ran well to place second on seasonal debut and he is taken to go one better in this competitive handicap chase. The selection looks capable of getting the better of West Wizard who is another to have made the frame last time out while third place can go the way of Oxwich Bay who put in a decent effort here on his penultimate start.
  1. Beallandendall
  2. West Wizard
  3. Oxwich Bay
