Career record is 6-60 on turf, been out of sorts recently over longer trip and while now below previous win-mark, needs this significant drop in distance to bring about a bit extra.
Winner of Class 5 mile-handicap at this course early last month, increased mark has proved beyond him at York and Haydock since however and likely remains in handicapper's grasp for now.
Showed improved form on his second Flat start at this course in May (7f good to firm) when finishing 4L third to Arbalet; 50/1. Another solid effort since at Hamilton over 6f and one to pay attention to up in trip now sent handicapping.
A break and a wind op appear to have been the catalyst for a better three-year-old season with a minor event and a handicap already tucked away on the AW, held at Newmarket however on recent turf return and more required to score from current mark.
Sole turf success was over 1m2f (good) from higher mark all the way back in May 2015. Is 1-31 on turf now and hasn't been able to build on initial promise shown for this yard last summer.
Hadn't won since 2015 until plummeting in the weights and winning at Bath in May, went pp 5lb and remains well handicapped if making a bid from the front, but unable to repeat the trick at same venue in one run since.
Still a maiden now after 12 starts and has been tried over a variety of trips. Solid effort last time over extended-mile at Hamilton (good to soft) from a pound higher. Firm ground is a concern.
Forecasts
Mesquite (2/1), Ghayyar (3/1), Dontgiveuponbob (4/1), Aqua Libre (4/1), It's Never Enough (14/1), Jacbequick (16/1), Amood (25/1)
Aqua Libre could be dangerous if allowed to dictate from the front while Dontgiveuponbob showed last time at Hamilton that the maiden tag he carries is in danger of being shed. The quicker ground forecast is a bit of worry for him though and so IT'S NEVER ENOUGH is given the nod to score on handicap debut following promising efforts at this track and Hamilton lately.
