In better form around the turn of the year recording back-to-back wins over 5f on the AW but hasn't looked in anything like the same form since. Well held on turf the last time she was seen at York although she will be more at home in this grade.

Already has two C&D wins to his name as a juvenile (favourite both times) but ran a below-par race on his only time he has been seen this year. Did have slight excuse in that race (no pace; failed to settle); down 2lb from his opening mark.

Bred to get further but looks happy enough with sprinting tests and only found an improving sort too good at Chester last time (did have the advantage of being well drawn). Steps into open handicaps for the first time; more to come off this mark.

Like many in this field a C&D winner although his form of late has been below his best - last two wins have been on a considerably softer surface. Tried over 6f last time and drops back to 5f here in a contest with a little too much class for him.

Has a much better strike-rate on the AW (11-32) versus his turf performances (3-37) and has really only run well once on turf this year. Well below form on turf last time under an amateur but has won off a similar mark on this surface; C&D winner.

The standout piece of form on his record this year is his C&D win in May (cashed in on the drop to a 0-70); now just 1lb higher but in a better race. Below his best since that win though; ran poorly in a race he won last year at Hamilton last time.

Pummelled by an in-form Dapper Man on his last two starts despite being better off at the weights the second time. Does have a C&D win to his name but on the evidence of his recent form he's going to find it hard to get involved here.

Forecasts

Verdict

The trio of three-year-olds in this all have something to offer and hold sway over the older brigade although two of them have a wide draw to contend with. The two with those draws are likely to have most to offer and SHAHEEN can continue his progress at the expense of Fool For You whose good Chester run was enhanced by her good draw. The other member of their age group – Arcavallo – has the most to prove but a strong pace may see him settle better this time around. Bosham isn’t as good on turf but he does have plenty of pace and should provide a good target to aim at with the rest of the older brigade all having something to prove despite plenty of C&D form on display.
  1. Shaheen
  2. Fool For You
  3. Arcavallo
