Looking at the pedigree there appears to be some promise in there but his stable are 0-23 with juveniles in the past five years. Best watched on this occasion despite a decent draw.

First ever juvenile runner for the yard who are still seeking their first winner overall. Does have some speed in his pedigree; half-brother to 7f winner Hold On Magnolia who won over 6f as a juvenile. Market may prove the best guide.

Newcomer who cost £80,000 from a recent breeze-up sale and with a yard who are no stranger to juvenile success. Has a speedy pedigree (by Dark Angel) and is half-brother to three winners including a couple of smart ones; plenty to like on debut.

Yard hardly prolific in this sphere and there's more stamina than speed in the pedigree of this newcomer. Given his profile he looks one for the longer term with the draw not having been kind either.

Yard have had some decent juveniles but are struggling a little this discipline this year (0-16 so far). Has a decent pedigree (half-brother to several winners) but looked in need of the experience on debut at Catterick when finishing well held.

One of two runners from the stable who has already has a brace of starts to his name taking slight step forward last time out when upped to 6f. The return to 5f doesn't look an obvious move but he does need this run for mark; looks a nursery type.

Does have some speed in his pedigree being a half-brother to a useful juvenile winner over 5f in Special Purpose (dam was also a juvenile winner). Yard not quite firing at the moment though and best watched on debut.

Unlucky with the draw here switched back to 5f after making his debut over a furlong further he does have the look of one for the longer term. Well held on that one start so far he's one for a watching brief here.

Rather mixed pedigree but didn't look to be lacking in speed on her debut over 5f at Sandown splitting two that had experience; both run well subsequently. Yard have only had one juvenile winner (1-8) but have 50% (4-8) record with juveniles here.

Forecasts

Thriving (5/6), King Of Tonga (9/4), Roulston Scar (6/1), Sosume (6/1), Robeam (14/1), Mighty Midjet (16/1), Raypeteafterme (25/1), Blackcurrent (33/1), Champyownez (33/1), The Defiant (40/1)

Verdict

Some well bred and interesting newcomers in the line-up here but it’s the only filly in the field THRIVING who is the suggestion with the form of her debut looking strong and with trainer Roger Varian having a good record with his juveniles at the track. Richard Fahey is always a trainer to respect in two-year-old contests and he runs two here Robeam who looks a nursery type and newcomer King Of Tonga who looks potentially the better of the pair. Sosume and Roulston Scar are two other newcomers that merit a mention with preference for the former.
