Drew a blank last year but ran okay on his most recent start at Lingfield when placed in third, and a 2lb lower mark here won't do his chances any harm.

C&D winner who wasn't disgraced at Doncaster last time out when beaten three lengths. On a similar mark here, he should be capable of building on that effort.

Back down to his highest previous winning handicap mark now, but not appealingly drawn here and others arrive in better form.

Second on his last four starts, which has certainly done his handicap mark no favours, but just 2lb higher than when running very well over this trip at Chester last time out and should go well again.

Down the field over further here last time out, but this drop back in trip should help him and he's dropped another useful 2lb.

Plenty of winning form over this trip, including at Listed level, and well-treated off this mark on the best of his form.

Two runs on turf so far this campaign leave him with improvement to find but this is his trip and he certainly shouldn't have an issue with his draw.

Only win since his juvenile campaign came in a Redcar seller last year and plenty of improvement needed in handicaps despite his slide down the weights.

Not totally disgraced at Windsor last time out and the return to this trip may well suit, but others certainly arrive here in better form.

Both career wins have come over 1m, and even overlooking that he's probably just slightly too high in the weights to prove competitive in this contest.

Far from the most frequent of winners these days, and this draw unlikely to make things easy for him to bounce back to form.

Still 3lb above his highest winning mark (from two starts ago), but should still find this a workable rating. Not disgraced last time out and is ground versatile.

Some good form last year but his performances so far in 2018 leave him with plenty of improvement to find in order to have a say in this contest.

Drop back in trip here could be seen as a positive given he has plenty of winning form over 7f, but recent form over further still makes him tough to fancy.

Goes well over this trip, but all of his career wins have come at Chester or Musselburgh, so the concern is that he may be best at a sharper track than this.

Often improves for his first couple of runs of the year so could step up on his recent efforts here. However, while he has some form on a range of going, he's generally best on softer ground..

Up 4lb for winning at Beverley last time out, and drops back in trip here. Needs to prove he has the tactical pace for this trip, as he's never race over shorter than 1m before.

All five career wins came back in 2016 and has struggled in the main since, including when well-beaten over 1m2f at Salisbury last time out having been sent off joint-favourite.

Denied at hat-trick at Thirsk last time out, and though this drop back in trip has to be seen as a positive but softer ground preferable.

In good form on the AW recently but remains a maiden on turf so racing in a competitive race on grass has to be a question mark.

Forecasts

Twin Appeal (8/1), Candelisa (8/1), Our Charlie Brown (8/1), Theodorico (8/1), Heaven's Guest (10/1), Detachment (10/1), My Amigo (10/1), Sir Roderic (12/1), Explain (12/1), Imperial State (14/1), Alfred Hutchinson (14/1), Mon Beau Visage (16/1), Magic City (20/1), The Amber Fort (20/1), Scofflaw (20/1), Gabrial The Tiger (20/1), Buccaneers Vault (33/1), Firmdecisions (33/1), Bold Spirit (33/1), Shouranour (40/1)

Verdict

My Amigo has been in good form recently with a string of seconds, but has crept up the weights as a result, while Alfred Hutchinson ran fairly well at Lingfield last time out and could build on that effort. However the suggestion is OUR CHARLIE BROWN. He's 3lb above his highest previous winning mark but that was just two starts ago, and he's not ground dependent. Having run fairly well on seasonal debut at Catterick last time out he can come on for the run and return to winning ways here. Mon Beau Visage and Theodorico are also worth mentioning.
  1. Our Charlie Brown
  2. My Amigo
  3. Alfred Hutchinson
