C&D winner and finished placed in a couple of top-class handicaps last year but failed to win a race. The handicapper eases him slightly here and he takes a drop in grade with his yard starting to get going.

Took a couple of handicaps last year in a slightly lesser grade but did have a few blips along the way in between the wins. Now returns having been gelded with the blinkers going on for the first time; yard to well with older handicappers.

Ran with a great deal of credit on the AW last time over 7f against one improving at a good rate. Responded well to pressure and should remain in form back on turf; back on last winning mark of 84.

Dual C&D winner who wasn't seen at his best in the second half of last year and rather looked to lose his way. He's well handicapped if connections can get him back to his best and he has gone well fresh in the past.

Dual winner last year with both victories coming on a Tapeta surface and has still to win on turf (0/8). Most of his best turf form has come at Doncaster and now returns after a break having run poorly on his last start.

Made a winning return having been gelded over C&D proving as good as ever (settled better than ever). Only beaten by another one well ahead of his mark at Pontefract last time but lost nothing in defeat and still looks well weighted here.

Fairly useful handicapper who does have his quirks though and isn't the strongest in a finish. Still 6lb above his last winning mark having his first run for a new yard having left Charles Hills; may still be a little high in the weights.

Returns to turf having run with credit on the AW since the turn of the year returning from a break. Doesn't look to have much in hand off his current mark though and needs some help from the handicapper.

Makes his seasonal reappearance having run well here before winning over C&D on his penultimate start and filling the runner-up slot on his last visit. Doesn't appear to look harshly treated on those two runs and could make his presence felt.

Defeated Qeyaadah last time out on the AW looking as though he could maintain that form on just 2lb worse terms. Looks a progressive sort having not had much racing so far and will continue to give a good account back on turf.

In good form during the 2016 season winning four times before he needed/had 16 months away from the course. Shaped as though he needed the run on his recent AW return and this should tell us more about his ability.

First run for this yard having left David O'Meara for whom he won at Newcastle on his penultimate start off a 2lb lower mark. Well-held when last seen over 1m2f and the visor he wore for his last four starts is removed.

Forecasts

Lamloom (13/8), Daira Prince (11/2), Sinfonietta (8/1), Himself (10/1), Qeyaadah (14/1), Redgrave (14/1), Ice Slice (16/1), Rosarno (16/1), Breanski (20/1), Pastime (20/1), Pike Corner Cross (25/1), Wink Oliver (28/1)

Verdict

A competitive a interesting handicap and Lamloom is sure to be of plenty of interest after his C&D win here and his very sound second last time out to a well-handicapped rival. However, ROSARNO is also a C&D winner and was unlucky not to make it 2/2 here when running into another improver on his last visit. Himself and Qeyaadah resume hostilities from the AW with the former looking progressive enough to confirm that form. Ice Slice is a dual C&D winner and he’s on a lenient mark if he can find his form with the dropped in grade Sinfonietta worth noting in the market.
  1. Rosarno
  2. Lamloom
  3. Himself
