Won two Listed races last year but a shade disappointing when well beaten on AW Final's Day last time out. Well suited by a stiff 6f and handicap mark is fair; he can't be ruled out with the yard in form and could get an easy lead.

He has a good strike-rate having won eight of his 27 races including three Group races and he's fallen to an attractive handicap mark. Can't be ruled despite a moderate effort on return over C&D last month.

Won this race last year and while he didn't managed to gain another win throughout the season, he ran some fair races in defeat. Respectable comeback when runner-up behind an improving sort at Doncaster last time and not dismissed.

Gained his first success since winning a Group 3 in 2015 last time over C&D. Plenty to like about that effort and still well enough handicapped to play a part here, though he's not the most consistent sort.

Won his second start at Windsor and impressive when landing a Group 2 at Maisons-Laffitte next time out but struggled to reproduce that effort throughout the remainder of the campaign and has a bit to prove at present.

Won a couple of valuable handicaps here last year, one over C&D and one on the July course. A suspicion the handicapper may have caught up with him though.

C&D winner last year and gained a success later in the campaign at Yarmouth but all three of his career wins have come with firm in the going and needs a clear career best to land any sort of blow here.

Managed to get up in the final strides at Naas last time out. More required in this company though and not the most consistent sort. Some rain may suit him better than others.

Last win came in a Group 3 at Ascot in 2015 but ran well behind Aeolus last time out over C&D and he gets a 4lb swing in the weights with that rival. Should come on for that run and won this race in 2015.

Useful sort who followed up an Ascot win with a good second of 18 over 7f to round off last years campaign. Only up 1lb for that and should go well again.

Running well in handicaps at the back-end of last season with placed efforts at Goodwood and Newbury but likely to be better handicapped sorts in here and has struggled when this high in the handicap before.

Gained his first win since 2015 on AW this winter and not been with this yard long. Inconsistency still a factor but not out of this back up in trip on his return to turf.

Effective when allowed to dictate terms but little chance of that in here, particularly from this draw and he's been below form of late.

Ran well on his return last year but couldn't get his head in front for the remainder of the campaign. Ran okay on yard debut last time but much more needed here.

Only has two wins to her name from 35 starts. Ran a huge race over C&D when last seen but hardly the type to back that up.

Verdict

Hugo Palmer is a trainer in form at present and his charge GIFTED MASTER could be hard to beat if allowed to get loose on the front end given he's a proven Group level performer. Eastern Impact and Aeolus should both run well again after a good dual over course and distance last time out and the pair remain well-handicapped.
