11/4
Three-times course winner who shaped well on his latest outing when third of 13 at Lingfield. Oly 2lb higher than when last successful, so firmly in the mix.

9/2
Shaped well on last two starts, including on latest outing when just touched off at this track over 7f. No obvious reason why drop in trip should be a hindrance and 2lb higher mark is manageable.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-6| J: L Morris| T: I Furtado| OR:  84| D
16/1
Three-time winner in France who was by no means disgraced off 3lb higher at Kempton last time with this jockey on board. May be ready to make a bold bid.

Much better on turf than grass (6-47, 0-15), and was last of 13 over 7f on his last visit to this track. Shaped a little better over 6f on latest start, but others make more appeal.

Has won twice over 7f at this track and latest of two starts for new trainer at Wolverhampton was encouraging. Best form over longer than this and may be taken out of his comfort zone..

Low mileage after only six starts, one of which saw him win a maiden juvenile event at York. Down the field in a valuable sprint handicap at Newmarket in May and has a lengthy absence to overcome.

Johnny Cavagint35
Age: 8|  Weight: 8-13| J: R Winston| T: Ronald Thompson| OR:  77| D
25/1
Experienced campaigner who is more prolific on turf but has won one of his 10 starts on the AW. Well beaten over 1m at Newcastle last time, but the return to this distance should help.

Five wins from 21 AW starts is a respectable strike rate and all have come over this distance. Ran well when second over C&D last time and is only 1lb higher. Leading chance.

Has been in fine form for this jockey, winning two of his last three starts, including over C&D. Climbing the weights, but hard to ignore in his current vein of form.

Deeds Not Wordsp16
Age: 6|  Weight: 8-7| J: F Norton| T: M Wigham| OR:  71| D
16/1
Successful over 6f on the AW at Kempton and Wolverhampton earlier this year. Sits 10lb higher than for the second of those wins and that gives him plenty to do.

Forecasts

Pearl Spectre (11/4), Human Nature (9/2), Born To Finish (5/1), Bahamian Heights (6/1), Nautical Haven (8/1), Siege Of Boston (8/1), Sir Ottoman (16/1), Deeds Not Words (16/1), Highland Acclaim (20/1), Johnny Cavagin (25/1)

Verdict

Plenty in with chances, not least the progressive Bahamian Heights. Deeds Not Words is respected despite being a little high in the handicap, while cases can be made for Johnny Cavagin and Nautical Haven. Preference, though, is for BORN TO FINISH, who ran well over C&D last time and has plenty going for him. The higher-weighted Pearl Spectre, Human Nature and Sir Ottoman can also make their presence felt.
  1. Born To Finish
  2. Bahamian Heights
  3. Sir Ottoman
