£170,000 yearling with plenty of racecourse experience. Her form began to tail off towards the back end of the turf season (best effort at Windsor), but she now switches to the AW and nurseries for the first time.

Caught close home in a 5f Windsor maiden in July, he has struggled for form since. This is just his second attempt in a nursery (down 2lb), and the first time cheek-pieces are applied.

Shaped with promise on debut at Ascot in May (5f) when beaten not much more than 3L by Mrs Gallagher. Has offered little to enthuse over since, but has fallen 8lb since allocated a handicap mark. Cheek-pieces now applied.

Has filled the runner up spot on no fewer than four occasions (10 race maiden), but is clearly effective at this track over 5f to 6f. Beaten 1¼L by Swissal on Friday (6f).

Seven race maiden who finished just ½L behind Mother of Dragons when third to Rock On Baileys over C&D late last month, and produced another similar effort behind tonight's rival over 6f here last Friday.

Improved since switched to synthetics and nursery handicaps. Left Ann Duffield after a positive effort at Kempton in mid October (second), and was a C&D winner on stable debut last month, beating Avon Green by a short-head. Up 5lb.

Alaskan Bay8
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-5| J: Hollie Doyle| T: Rae Guest| OR:  54
3/1
Headed deep inside the final furlong when beaten a neck by Skyva on nursery debut at Wolverhampton last week (6f). Races from the same mark (due a 4lb rise), and must have claims over this shorter trip.

Forecasts

Magic Pulse (5/2), Alaskan Bay (3/1), Mother of Dragons (9/2), Global Academy (13/2), Angel of The South (7/1), Bomad (10/1), Cardaw Lily (12/1)

Verdict

It's prudent to stick with those horses in form in these moderate nurseries, which effectively reduces this field to four runners. Mother Of Dragons will most likely have the measure of old foe Bomad once more, whilst last month's C&D winner Magic Pulse should figure despite a 5lb rise in the weights. However, the solution could be ALASKAN BAY. Rae Guest's filly is officially 4lb ahead of the handicapper after a positive showing over 6f at Wolverhampton last week, and this drop in trip can suit.
  1. Alaskan Bay
  2. Magic Pulse
  3. Mother of Dragons
