Failed to finish on three of his four starts since winning over 3m on soft ground here in March 2015. Handicap mark is falling rapidly but plenty to prove at present.
11 race maiden but has run well over fences the last twice finishing 12L second of four at Southwell (good) last time out. Handles softer surfaces but this drop in trip isn't certain to suit.
Three time winner in Ireland and in good form last winter placing at Tramore and Down Royal. Well held on two most recent outings and seeking his first victory in well over three years on his debut for this stable today.
Successful off a 3lb higher mark at Warwick (2m4f, soft) in December last year but well held generally since. Better effort on seasonal debut last time out however and softer surface forecast today is a positive.
Best effort in two starts over fences came when 7L third at Stratford (good-to-soft) over an extended 2m6f last time out. Races off the same mark today and is an interesting runner in this contest.
Victorious on heavy ground at Newcastle in March and a respectable effort at Hexham next time. Disappointing since however and races off a mark 3lb higher than for his latest success.
Successful on good ground at Hexham over 3m in May but well beaten back over hurdles at the same course on his seasonal debut two weeks ago. Worth a check in the market today.
Maiden after 22 starts and well beaten in three starts since finishing third at Hexham (good) in April. Trip and ground should suit but likely to find at least one too good today.
Forecasts
Twist On Ginge (2/1), Normandy King (7/2), Arquebusier (11/2), Under The Red Sky (6/1), Knocknamona (7/1), The Horsechesnut (12/1), Refused A Name (25/1), Captain Sharpe (33/1)
NORMANDY KING is lightly raced over fences but can claim this competitive looking contest off the same mark as when finishing third at Stratford last time out. The selection has won on soft surfaces in the past and is taken to get the better of the well handicapped The Horsechesnut who can return to form dropping in grade today while the youngest horse in the field Twist On Ginge can claim third on this occasion.
