Extremely useful at best and returned from a gelding operation to win convincingly at Chantilly last time. Will be hard to beat if in the same mood, but has to prove his effectiveness on the AW.

Won a C&D conditions race in April and did even better to be successful in two Listed contests at Sandown. Return to this surface not a problem and has to be high on the list of contenders.

Produced several creditable efforts in 2016, but he has been unable to replicate that sort of form this year and his rating has dropped accordingly. Plenty to do against rivals of this calibre.

Won a 7f handicap at this track in January, and two subsequent efforts in Listed and conditions events were satisfactory. This requires more, however, and he looks to have plenty to do after his break.

Two wins this season have come in France, both under this jockey and one of them on the AW. Not ruled out, but others have stronger claims.

Trained by Francois Rohaut when winning twice in Listed company in France. First run for current handler saw him finish a fair third in a conditions event at Doncaster, but more will be needed if he is to win this.

More than useful performer at his best, but seems to have become ingrained in the habit of running well without getting his head in front. Won his only race on the AW, but overall profile suggests he will do well to replicate that feat.

Lightly raced and promising, his only venture on to the AW saw him justify favouritism in a 7f handicap at Newcastle in March. Much more needed to win this, but has run well on his last two starts, including in Listed company last time.

On a steep upward curve, winning two of his last four starts and running particularly well to be fourth in a valuable handicap at Ascot on latest outing. Already a winner at this track, he is much respected given his progressive profile.

Has won four of his seven starts, including a Listed contest at Maisons-Lafitte on latest outing. Won at Chelmsford on his only AW start and has to be afforded plenty of respect despite this step up in class.

Irish raider who has won a couple of ordinary contests on the AW at Dundalk. Jockey booking catches the eye, but looks to have plenty to do.

Won four races in a row on the AW from January to April and has fared well in good company on turf since then. Does not need to find much to get involved and record on synthetic surfaces makes him a threat.

Forecasts

Accidental Agent (11/4), Second Thought (5/1), Stormy Antarctic (6/1), Khafoo Shememi (8/1), Archetype (8/1), Keystroke (10/1), So Beloved (12/1), Glastonbury Song (12/1), Mr Owen (16/1), Via Via (20/1), Home Cummins (20/1), Mr Scaramanga (25/1), London Protocol (33/1), Battle Of Marathon (100/1)

Verdict

A really good contest. Stormy Antarctic looked back to something like his best last time following a gelding operation but is unproven on the AW and is narrowly opposed by ACCIDENTAL AGENT who is seriously progressive and won his only race at this track. Second Thought boasts a fine record on the AW and can get involved, along with Khafoo Shememi, Archetype and So Beloved.
