Been with a few trainers, and was scoring for Richard Ford (debut) when a ready 10L winner at Cartmel in August (3m1½f good to soft). Hit hard by the handicapper, but ran okay (fourth) on stable debut at Market Rasen (3m) latest.

Didn't get home (2m5f) after racing prominently on stable debut at Ayr earlier this month. Down 3lb, he's likely to be stronger for that race, and has form over staying trips in the past for previous trainer Emma Lavelle.

Risen sharply in the weights since March (up 27lb), but has developed an affinity with this track, winning five races on the bounce, all over 3m (good through to heavy). Up 2lb for his latest success in June, but an extra mile to cover in trip.

On a lengthy losing run, barren since 2013, so perhaps the first time visor will be of assistance. However, is a 12 race maiden over fences, and got no further than the first at Southwell in October, and kept to hurdles since.

Suited by a test of stamina, although not necessarily this far, and both of his previous career successes have come at Kelso. On a decent mark, 15lb below his last winning one, but ideally suited by better ground.

Showed an ability to handle testing conditions when winning his maiden point-to-point in April 2016. Lightly raced under rules, and has held little chance in a trio of beginners chases this term. so this looks more realistic on handicap debut.

Forecasts

Hattons Hill (5/2), Moorlands Mist (7/2), Shake It Up (9/2), Onderun (9/2), Lowanbehold (6/1), Corskeagh Express (14/1)

Verdict

A fight of the very fittest, run in testing conditions which is therefore most unlikely to make for pleasant viewing. Shake It Up has a welter burden to carry following his Cartmel success for Richard Ford in August, whilst the Hexham specialist Hattons Hill will put his love for this track to the ultimate test now stepping up one whole mile in trip. ONDERUN shaped with some promise on stable debut at Ayr recently, and likely much stronger for that reappearance looks to be the type that will thrive for the switch to the Bewley's. He has previous form over marathon trips (albeit not quite this far) for Emma Lavelle, so is just the pick in a tough race, where a market move for handicap debutant Corskeagh Express could also prove illuminating.
  1. Onderun
  2. Corskeagh Express
  3. Shake It Up
