Improved last season and added two further wins to his CV, the latest coming at Perth (2m4f, good) in June from 4lb lower. Sent off favourite back there last time, he was beaten 23L from 1lb higher than today. Claims if back to his best this time.

Won 3-4 in November/December last year, two of those over fences and at this sort of trip. 7lb higher than the latest of those at Kempton and went close from just 1lb lower than today at Worcester in June. Stiff tasks since and not ruled out.

Won at both Kempton and Market Rasen (easily) in novices' hurdles in February/March and after being found wanting at Grade 1 level, he went chasing on his reappearance. Beaten 25L there, but drop in trip could help him do better.

Won a couple of novices' handicap chases at Market Rasen (2m5½f, good/soft) last year, but handicapper then took control. 3lb higher than most recent win, about a year ago, but a bit to prove on his return from a 10-month absence.

Improved last winter to win 3-4 at one stage. Handicapper has since had her measure, though he appears to be relenting after she failed to complete on her comeback at Worcester last month. Not ruled out if straighter for that after 5lb drop.

Both of his chase wins have come at 2m4f on good/soft ground, the more recent being at Carlisle in April when doing so by 7L from 3lb lower. Made a good return over an inadequate trip and he has decent claims now 2lb lower over this trip.

Multiple winner over fences on all types of ground and from 1m7½f-2m6½f. The last of those was from 12lb higher last year and although not hugely competitive since, if the latest 5lb drop induced a return to form it would not be a huge surprise.

New Kid In Town34
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-12| J: Ryan Winks(5)| T: P Winks| OR:  121
28/1
Won a couple of races for Willie Mullins over 2m4f in September/October last year, the latter from just 1lb lower than today. Stuggled to complete on most starts since then, however, so probably one to watch on debut for this yard.

Forecasts

Get On The Yager (7/4), Poker School (9/4), Wolf Sword (7/2), Indian Temple (9/1), Twenty Eight Guns (11/1), New Kid In Town (28/1), Cusheen Bridge (33/1), Rathlin (50/1)

Verdict

Indian Temple was a shade disappointing as favourite at Perth last time, but if he could recapture the form of his previous win there then he would have claims from topweight. Poker School has had one or two tough assignments lately, but back in this grade he could make a big impact, while Wolf Sword is exposed but should go well now returned to this trip. Twenty Eight Guns is another to consider, but the suggestion is GET ON THE YAGER, whose hurdles form promised more than his chase debut delivered last time, but dropped back to this trip and with that under his belt, we could see a different result this time.
  1. Get On The Yager
  2. Poker School
  3. Wolf Sword
