In good form on his two most recent starts, finishing fourth to Thomas Campbell at this track before winning decisively at Newbury. Clearly in good heart, but has plenty of work to do if he is to turn the tables on his old rival.
Good novice/handicap hurdler last season and confirmed the belief that step up in trip would suit when winning well over 3m at this track last month. Has been raised 10lb, but 7lb of that is negated by his excellent claimer. The one to beat.
Won staying handicap hurdles on his final two starts last season and finds himself on a 17lb higher mark than for the first of them. Hard to know how far he could go over timber, but is likely to be seen over fences before too long.
Showed a fair level of form earlier in his career, but has not really kicked on and was well held when 10th behind Thomas Campbell last time. Better off at the weights with that rival and Dell' Arca, but still faces a stiff task.
Returned from his summer break to finish a good third of 21 over 2m5f at this track. Has to prove himself at this sort of trip and is opposed given his stamina doubts.
Another to finish behind Thomas Campbell last time. The champion jockey takes over and will need to have a positive effect if this one is to get involved.
Winner of this race a year ago, but comes into this year's renewal on the back of a last-hurdle fall in the race won by Thomas Campbell. He looked beaten at the time and has to bounce back,
A half-brother to the high-class Grands Crus, he boasts fair form in France. Hard to equate his form in relation to the English horses, but stable's runners are not to be underestimated. Wears a tongue tie and cheekpieces for the first time.
Forecasts
Thomas Campbell (13/8), Kk Lexion (5/1), Rocky's Treasure (13/2), Anteros (8/1), Connetable (10/1), Dell' Arca (10/1), Solatentif (14/1), Rolling Maul (16/1), Nuits Premier Cru (20/1)
THOMAS CAMPBELL had several of these behind when winning comfortably at the last meeting at this track and his 10lb rise in the weights is largely offset by the 7lb claim of his excellent young rider. He looks a sound bet to see off top weight Dell' Arca and the consistent Solatentif. French raider Nuits Premier Cru is an interesting contender.
