Kylemore Lought1225
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-12| J: N D Fehily| T: H Fry| OR:  154| D
4/1
Won five of his 10 chases for Kerry Lee and ran a fine race to be a close-up fifth in a similar contest at this track last December. Races off 2lb lower for his new trainer and has to be of serious interest. Tongue tied for the first time

Horse silk
Le Prezient21
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-8| J: B J Geraghty| T: P F Nicholls| OR:  150| BF| C
6/1
Consistent and progressive sort who made an excellent return to action when chasing home Foxtail Hill over 2m at this venue. Extra distance of this race is not an issue and he is 1lb better off for a neck beating.
3
Horse silk
Double Treasuret21
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-8| J: G Sheehan| T: Jamie Snowden| OR:  150| CD
25/1
On a steep upward curve after winning his last four races over fences, the latest at this track last month. Hurtling up the weights, but the ceiling of his ability is still unknown.
4
Horse silk
Viconte Du Noyert21
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-8| J: B J Cooper| T: C L Tizzard| OR:  150| C
20/1
Inconsistent since joining current trainer and often promises more than he actually delivers. Has run over a variety of distances, but proved his effectiveness at this trip when second at the Punchestown Festival in April. Looks to be up against it.
5
Horse silk
Days Of Heavenh28
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-7| J: N de Boinville| T: N J Henderson| OR:  149| D
33/1
Winner of four of his seven chases who looked to be a horse on the upgrade when winning at Uttoxeter in May. Only fourth to Romain De Senam at Stratford last time, however, and will do well to turn the tables despite a 7lb pull.
6
Horse silk
Tully East31
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-6| J: D F O'Regan| T: A Fleming| OR:  148| CD
8/1
Landed some nice bets when winning the novices' handicap chase at the Cheltenham Festival and warmed up for this with a recent run over hurdles at Punchestown. Open to improvement and much respected.
7
Horse silk
Foxtail Hill21
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-5| J: Jamie Bargary(3)| T: N A Twiston-Davies| OR:  147| C| D
9/1
Tough, bold-jumping frontrunner who proved tenacious in holding off Le Prezien over 2m at this track last time. May not be able to get his own way in front with several prominent racers pitched against him, but has to be considered.
8
Horse silk
Theinvalp14
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-4| J: J McGrath| T: N J Henderson| OR:  146| D
20/1
Several good efforts in handicap chases last season and can usually be relied on to run his race. Feasibly handicapped, but may be slightly more effective over 2m.
9
Horse silk
Romain De Senamh,t28
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-3| J: H Cobden| T: P F Nicholls| OR:  145
10/1
Progressive young chaser who has won both his races this season, latterly at Stratford where he had Days Of Heaven behind. Up another 6lb, but is the type his top trainer does so well with and enters calculations.
10
Horse silk
Starchitectb,t16
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-2| J: T Scudamore| T: D Pipe| OR:  144
10/1
Campaigned at a high level in novice and handicap company last season, he returned to action at Stratford where he recorded a convincing success. Has been raised 4lb, which is not prohibitive, so he is another with sound claims.
11
Horse silk
Ballyaltonp20
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-1| J: T J O'Brien| T: Ian Williams| OR:  143| CD
8/1
Won the novices' handicap chase at the Cheltenham Festival in 2016, but has had a few problems since and returned from a lengthy absence to run a promising race over hurdles at Aintree. Chance if retaining all his ability over fences.
12
Horse silk
Aqua Dude41
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-11| J: Adam Wedge| T: Evan Williams| OR:  139| D
16/1
Has been running well in novice company and got off the mark over fences at the seventh attempt when winning a beginners' chase at Uttoxeter last month. Promising, but this is by far his toughest assignment.
13
Horse silk
Bentelimar66
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-11| J: J J Burke| T: C E Longsdon| OR:  139| D
25/1
Irish import whose last run saw him finish sixth of 18 in the Kerry National at Listowel. He is 3lb higher and that gives him plenty to find for his new stable.
14
Horse silk
Plaisir D'Amour203
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-10| J: Aidan Coleman| T: Miss V Williams| OR:  138| C
20/1
Won over 2m5f at this track in April before finishing fifth off 7lb higher in a better race at Sandown soon after. Not seen since, but trainer can be relied on to have her primed for this challenge off 1lb lower.
15
Horse silk
Guitar Pete15
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-6| J: R D Day(3)| T: N G Richards| OR:  134| D
11/1
Ended a frustrating run of seconds when winning at Wetherby earlier this month. Has been raised 7lb which gives him plenty to do in a much stronger contest.
16
Horse silk
Splash of Ginge15
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-6| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: N A Twiston-Davies| OR:  134| CD
25/1
Experienced performer with winning form over C&D. Fully exposed, however, and was well behind Guitar Pete at Wetherby last time.

Horse silk
Lake Takapuna106
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-1| J: P J Brennan| T: J H Culloty| OR:  129
20/1
Fair handicap chaser in Ireland, but has been well held off this mark on his last two starts. Others have much stronger profiles.

Forecasts

Kylemore Lough (4/1), Le Prezien (6/1), Ballyalton (8/1), Tully East (8/1), Foxtail Hill (9/1), Starchitect (10/1), Romain De Senam (10/1), Guitar Pete (11/1), Aqua Dude (16/1), Viconte Du Noyer (20/1), Plaisir D'Amour (20/1), Theinval (20/1), Lake Takapuna (20/1), Splash of Ginge (25/1), Double Treasure (25/1), Bentelimar (25/1), Days Of Heaven (33/1), Mystifiable (33/1)

Verdict

Lots in with chances as one would expect for a race of this nature. Foxtail Hill is likely to set a searching gallop, but he may face competition for the lead which could compromise his chance. There should not be much between him and Le Prezien on their recent running at this track, while the latter's stable companion Romain De Senam is progressive and has to enter the equation. The selection, though, is top-weight KYLEMORE LOUGH, who boasts high-class form none of his rivals can match and is by no means badly handicapped on his first start for a trainer in red-hot form. He can hold off Irish raider Tully East , who won at last season's Cheltenham Festival and may have more improvement in him. Those looking for an outsider could do worse than Plaisir D'amour who is unexposed and represents a trainer always to be respected in big handicaps.
  1. Kylemore Lough
  2. Tully East
  3. Romain De Senam
