Winner twice from five starts including on hurdling debut at Bangor (soft) last December. Subsequently finished third in a Grade 1 at Sandown (soft) prior to disappointing at Kelso and he wears a tongue tie for his handicap and chase debut.
Made a winning debut over fences at Stratford (good-to-soft) in September and put a Sedgefield fall behind him when finishing 22L second at Market Rasen (good) last time out. Likely more needed off this mark.
Finished runner-up on all three starts since joining this yard. Latest of those came when beaten 3L over 2m4f at Uttoxeter (soft) last month and he is one to note on his return to handicap company today.
Dual winner including over hurdles for Nicky Henderson and ran well to finish runner-up over 2m5f at Ffos Las (soft) on stable and chasing debut last month. Making his handicap debut for a yard in good form at present (10/44).
Twice a winner on soft ground over hurdles earlier this year but held in handicap company on his last three outings. More needed if he's to make a winning chase debut today.
Winning for the first time when successful in a novice hurdle at Fontwell (2m3f, good-to-soft) in February. Good effort to finish fourth in a Grade 3 handicap next time but well held the last twice including on seasonal and chasing debut last month.
Maiden hurdle winner at Taunton (2m3f, good) in March but disappointing under an amateur rider at Ayr (good-to-soft) subsequently. Represents a leading stable on his chasing debut.
Sole victory came in a Wetherby novice hurdle over an extended 2m5f in December last year. Well held in much better races since and making his chasing and handicap debut today.
Made a winning chase debut over an extended 2m3f at Fontwell (good) last month but finished a well held fourth at Plumpton (good-to-soft) subsequently. Races off a mark 7lb higher than for that Fontwell victory.
Maiden after five starts and beaten 38L when second at Market Rasen (soft) on his penultimate outing. Plenty to prove having pulled up over hurdles at Newbury (3m, soft) when last in action back in March.
Four time winner including twice within a week over hurdles in March. Held in two starts over fences though put in an improved performance when third at Sedgefield (good-to-soft) last time. Needs to improve to take this however.
Forecasts
Jameson (5/2), Baden (11/2), Chalonnial (6/1), Crystal Lad (7/1), Qualando (17/2), Touch Kick (10/1), Western Miller (12/1), Casper King (12/1), Accord (16/1), Bally Gilbert (20/1), Deauville Crystal (40/1)
CHALONNIAL looked a potentially useful individual when making a winning debut over hurdles last December and while he failed to win in two subsequent starts in Graded company he can make a winning debut by defying top weight on his chasing debut today. The selection is sure to have been well schooled for this first attempt over fences and can see off today's rivals with Touch Kick for leading trainer Paul Nicholls taken to claim second ahead of Jameson who ran well when finishing runner-up on chasing debut last time out.
