33/1
15 race maiden on the Flat who was beaten 116L when finishing fifth on hurdling/stable debut last time out. Much more needed here.
2
Horse silk
11/2
French bumper winner who hasn't been able to build on that since switching to this yard, despite being in the care of a top trainer. More needed than he showed at Newton Abbot last month, when beaten 19L.
One of the more experienced contenders in the field who ran a solid race on hurdling debut at Newton Abbot last time out having shown some form in bumpers. Should come on for that last run in the hands of a top conditional rider.

80/1
Off since his only start when beaten 139L into last at Chepstow in October last year. Needs to come on massively for that after a break of over a year.
Useful performer on the Flat (3/21 including a Class 3 handicap last time), who isn't exactly bred for obstacles but should put in a bold bid on debut in this sphere if showing the necessary jumping technique.

7/1
Progressive bumper horse last summer who hasn't been seen on the track since last September. Would be a player here on hurdling debut if overcoming that lay-off.

Yet to get off the mark but his most promising run came over C&D in handicap company in April. This maiden race should be harder, but still seems of below-average quality.

Cooperess45
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-5| J: R T Dunne| T: D Burchell
66/1
Flat recruit who was just 1/23 on the level. Needs to find plenty of improvement for this switch to hurdles on her first run over obstacles.
12-race Flat maiden who never went seriously close to getting off the mark in that sphere and seems an unlikely type on this debut over hurdles.

Forecasts

Grand Inquisitor (4/5), Dentley De Mee (9/4), Darling Maltaix (11/2), Pokari (7/1), Serveontime (25/1), Ataman (33/1), Cooperess (66/1), Diablerets (80/1), Wilspa's Magic (200/1)

Verdict

Most of these seem unlikely winners for one reason or another, so everything seems set for GRAND INQUISITOR to run a very big race on hurdling debut. By Dansili and the first of his dam's nine offspring to go over obstacles he doesn't really seem bred for jumping, but so long as that doesn't prove an issue he looks the class act in the field after winning a nice Flat handicap at York last time out by a wide margin. Dentley De Mee has some good form from bumpers and can build on her hurdling debut last time to be second best, while Pokari also holds claims but needs to overcome an absence.
  1. Grand Inquisitor
  2. Dentley De Mee
  3. Pokari
