High class chaser for Willie Mullins at best, has fallen some way from those lofty heights but did come good at Plumpton in March and on same mark here. No great record fresh, however, and with yard quiet at present, best watched here.
On a very good mark if he can recapture some form, but the years are rolling by and he seems to be on the downgrade. On the plus side, has won fresh, so it's possible that today is the day to catch him, and the market may be the best guide.
Poor win record and you have to go back to 2015 to find his last win, first run for new yard today but form last year was heading South, so they need to have found the key to him to turn him around. Others preferred.
In the frame last four starts but in truth, not really going anywhere quickly and handicapper slow to relent as well. Probably wants a little further than this too, so on balance, others look to hold stronger profiles.
Winner here over slightly further last November, just as effective at this trio and on a variety of ground, so has that going for her. Cheekpieces tried after a moderate effort at Worcester last time and yard still a little quiet, so best watched.
Stays well and acts on good ground, hard to pass on a going day but predicting those is a game in itself. Tongue tie given a try after giving up the ghost pretty quickly at Southwell last time, so clearly risky.
C&D winner here in March and now 10lb higher than that win, overall form very patchy and it may be that he needs to come down a few pounds judged on latest Huntingdon effort. Likely to need the run too, and makes only limited appeal.
Jumped them silly when successful at Huntingdon last time out, and a joy to watch on a going day. Every bit as effective here and despite the handicapper whacking the old boy with a 9lb rise, that may not stop him following up.
Last won when Noah was a boy, finishes tailed off most starts, going off huge prices, races from miles out of the handicap here and has no realistic chance of success.
Forecasts
Wade Harper (5/2), D'nailor (9/2), Prettylittlething (9/2), Enjoy Responsibly (6/1), That's The Deal (8/1), Wings Of Smoke (8/1), Little Windmill (16/1), Turban (16/1), The Society Man (200/1)
THAT'S THE DEAL and Little Windmill will be playing catch-me-if-you-can with the rest of this field, and if That's The Deal puts in a couple of good jumps early he can shake off Little Windmill and then he may prove hard to pass. He jumps for fun and that will always stand him in good stead. Wings Of Smoke is another well into the veteran stage and isn't the force of old, but he's on a fair mark these days and may be able to take advantage if the selection fails to fire.
