Two poor runs after being gelded, but much better on the AW at Chelmsford last time. Acts on soft ground and looks a contender given his return to form.

Has not been at his best this year, but was not beaten too far in a Group 3 contest at Ascot last time. This is much easier, but it is a long time since he won and others make more appeal.

Returned to form with a good fourth in a decent contest at York last time. Runs off the same mark, has won on soft ground and is respected.

The fitting of a hood has transformed this three-year-old, who has won three of his last four starts. On a career-high mark, but has to go on the short list with underfoot conditions not an issue.

Won at Ayr in August, but last three efforts have been disappointing and he was behind Master Carpenter last time. Plenty to prove for the time being.

Lightly raced, he won at Kempton when last seen in December. Has gone up 8lb and has been gelded, so he may be best watched after his spell on the sidelines.

Showed a good attitude to win at Haydock two starts ago, but was well beaten at Nottingham last time. Likes cut in the ground and may be able to bounce back.

Put some ordinary efforts behind him when a good third over 7f at Ascot last time. Steps back up in trip and has to prove it suits.

Looked a smart handicapper early in his career, but has struggled during the last two years and has fallen down the handicap. Likely to find a few too good for him again.

Not beaten far in a decent handicap at Nottingham last time. All three career wins have come with give in the ground so he should be able to get involved.

Genetics12

Won over this course in August, last year, but is lightly raced and first start for 12 months saw him finish down the field at Windsor. Should strip fitter for the outing and is not ruled out with so few miles on the clock.

Forecasts

Century Dream (13/8), Mutarakez (9/2), Genetics (8/1), Towerlands Park (9/1), Abdon (12/1), Master Carpenter (12/1), Awake My Soul (16/1), Sea Fox (16/1), Weekend Offender (16/1), Storm Rock (25/1), Restorer (25/1)

Verdict

Top-weight Abdon can go well after returning to form last time and cases can be made for Storm Rock and Genetics at the other end of the handicap. Century Dream has to be a major player given his current vein of form, but the selection is MASTER CARPENTER, who ran really well in a good race at York last time and will have no problems with underfoot conditions.
  1. Master Carpenter
  2. Century Dream
  3. Abdon
