Unable to build on his only career win (on his second start last year), and a first time visor here needs to bring about plenty of improvement in order for him to figure.
Up in trip the last twice, first of all making a winning debut over 7f before being outclassed in a competitive Newmarket heat last time. May find this slightly easier off the same mark.
Only narrowly beaten in a similar event at Newmarket last time out and has gone up 2lb as a result. Looks to have a big chance here if able to replicate that performance.
Some nice form in France as a juvenile but unable to come on from those since moving to this country, and needs to leave his recent form behind in first time blinkers.
Stamina doubts over this far given she has never won beyond 5f, in addition to both turf wins having come on good to firm ground. These unlikely to be her conditions.
2/2 over this trip so far, and may not have enjoyed the ground when disappointing at Newmarket last time out over 1m. Should have a say back down to 7f.
Salisbury maiden winner on debut in July; failed to fire in two handicaps since but down 3lb since those efforts and apprentice rider claims a further 3lb.
Has firmly established himself as a specialist over this trip and despite having gone up in the weights should still be on a workable mark. Seems to handle any ground and should run well.
Won on turf for the first time at Newmarket last time out when benefiting from a clever ride from Silvestre De Sousa. Will find things harder up 4lb with an apprentice in the saddle.
Forecasts
Clef (7/2), Hajjam (5/1), Ocean Air (13/2), Robin Weathers (7/1), Scofflaw (8/1), Pastime (9/1), Toy Theatre (10/1), Medici Banchiere (11/1), Rose Berry (16/1), Thomas Cranmer (20/1), Dandyman Port (20/1)
PASTIME was beaten by just a nose in a similar race to this at Newmarket last time on his return to 7f, and up 2lb he looks to have leading claims here. He likely has more improvement in him than many of these and wasn't beaten far in what looks to have been a tougher affair at Ascot in July. Robin Weathers seems favourably treated and is another to consider, while Scofflaw should find this to be a more suitable assignment.
