Displayed ability on her debut at Carlisle, but failed to show the benefit of that run when last of 12 next time at Pontefract. That was probably not her running and she has been given a break since. Best watched.

Trans Island filly who cost £3,500 as a yearling and whose dam is a sister to three winners from 7f to 1m. Likely to need the experience on debut.

Daughter of Australian sire Sepoy, she fetched 48,000 gns as a yearling and is a half-sister to five winners from 5f to 7f. Stable can ready one first time, but pedigree does not suggest 1m is what she needs on debut.

£12,000 breeze-up purchase from the successful first crop of Havana Gold and out of a dam who is well related. Needed the experience when fourth of nine on debut at Thirsk and should do better for a stable blessed with juvenile talent.

Horse silk

Shamardal filly who cost 870,000 gns as a yearling and is a half-sister to top-class Group 1 winner Legatissimo. Lovely pedigree, but was too green to do herself justice on debut at Newmarket and is likely to take a big step forward.
Harbour Watch half-sister to 1m2f winner Kenyan Cat. Will probably need this initial start and can only be watched with a view to the future.
Lovely pedigree. By Dansili out of a mare who finished second in the 1,000 Guineas and Coronation Stakes. Of obvious interest on debut, but master trainer will almost certainly be bringing her along slowly.

Appealing enough on breeding, but not much show in runs at Goodwood and Chelmsford. May need more time and handicapping may suit better.

By Breeders' Cup Classic winner Blame, she is the first foal of 7f-1½m winner Quschi. Plenty of promise when fourth on debut at Kempton and should improve. Respected.

Horse silk
11/1
Dubawi filly out of a Galileo mare who fetched 525,000 gns as a yearling. Beautifully-bred and certainly one to note on debut. One of two likely sorts from powerful stable.

Horse silk
10/1
Nathanial filly out of an Hernando mare so plenty of stamina in her pedigree. Owners look to have a potentially sharper type in Lunar Corona, but this well-bred filly is certainly worth a check in the betting.

Horse silk
50/1
Nayef filly who is half-sister to some good winners at around 7f. Represents leading connections and any money for her should be noted.

Horse silk
12/1
By Australian sire Redoute's Choice out of a Galileo mare who is an unraced sister to Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Roderic O'Connor. Nothing wrong with her pedigree and well worth a market check on debut for good stable.

Horse silk
66/1
Most Improved filly, a half-sister to the Listed-placed Sagaciously. Well held on debut at Nottingham and is likely to need time to develop.

Horse silk
6/1
Shamardal filly out of a mare who was placed in Group company over middle distances. Looks a good prospect for next year, but was forward enough when fourth on debut at Nottingham and looks sure to improve.

Forecasts

Mrs. Sippy (2/1), Gumriyah (4/1), Sailing Home (6/1), Lunar Corona (7/1), Pilaster (10/1), Nassya (11/1), Roystonia (12/1), Golden Guide (28/1), Birdette (33/1), Ficanas (50/1), Qaswarah (50/1), Sageness (66/1), Midas Maggie (80/1), Fair Island (150/1), Harbour Sunrise (150/1)

Verdict

Several beautifully-bred fillies take part and it will be a surprise if there is not a smart prospect among them. Lunar Corona and Pilaster make their debuts for one of the country's leading owners and are well worth checking in the market, but Gumriyah and NASSYA hail from a yard which does well with its juvenile fillies at this track and the latter is suggested on debut on the basis of the trainer's record and a superb pedigree. Roystonia and Qaswarah are other newcomers to note in the betting, while of those to have run, Mrs Sippy and Sailing Home could fare best.
  1. Nassya
  2. Gumriyah
  3. Lunar Corona
