6/4
Dual hurdles winner who has run twice over fences. He looked the likely winner when going well in a novices' chase at Stratford last time, but found less than expected and may have needed the run.

9/1
Useful hurdler who faced a tough task in quite a hot contest on his chase debut at Newton Abbot. Pulled up that day, he may not have enjoyed the heavy ground and deserves another chance on better going.

Seems to have been around or ages, but is still quite young and was made favourite for his chasing debut at Stratford. He was no match for an impressive winner and weakened into third, but should be wiser for the experience. Stable in fine form.

10/1
Won two of his first three starts over fences before finishing fourth of nine at Worcester on his last outing. Slightly better ground should help and he has enough talent to figure at these weights.

Darebin15
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-13| J: J E Moore| T: G & J Moore| OR:  123| D
3/1
Three-times winner over hurdles who made his chasing debut over C&D earlier this month and ran a fair race to be second of three finishers in a five-runner race. Stable hitting form so he warrants respect.

Florescop,t149
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-13| J: James Best| T: R Woollacott| OR:  123| BF
12/1
Fairly consistent handicap hurdler, but he has not been seen since May and has a go at chasing on his return to action. Interesting to see if there is any market support for him.

Forecasts

Valhalla (6/4), Darebin (3/1), Kapstadt (4/1), Robinshill (9/1), Going For Broke (10/1), Floresco (12/1)

Verdict

Quite a trappy novices' handicap chase. Hopefully, it was lack of peak fitness rather than reluctance which saw Valhalla grab defeat from the jaws of victory last time. He is talented and could well defy top weight, while Robinshill is better than he showed on his chasing debut and Going For Broke can be forgiven an ordinary display last time. The bottom two, Darebin and Floresco, are also likely to have their supporters, but KAPSTADT ran into a good novice on his chasing bow, will be wiser for the experience and hails from a stable in top form.
  1. Kapstadt
