Back-to-back winner last year off higher marks than this and has been hinting at a return to form of late. Has four wins from 19 starts on the AW so it would be no surprise to see him return to form on this surface.

In good form over hurdles lately and has finished in the top two seven out of his last nine races. His win at the Galway Festival was impressive and he may have found his next run coming too soon. Could be more to come in this sphere.

In fine form of late without managing to get his head in front. Impressive when landing this race last year for these connections and would seem to have solid each-way claims again.

His best recent efforts have come on the AW at Dundalk and ran a fair race there last month when last out. Losing run starting to mount up but 7f is his optimum trip and looks set to get his head back in front sooner or later.

Not won for over two years now and only beaten one horse home two attempts on the AW. Looking well-handicapped on his form from 2015 but looks largely reliant on a first-time tongue-tie working the oracle.

Last win came in a Dundalk claimer at the start of the season but ran well on return to the AW last time at that same course and all seven of his victories have come on an artificial surface. Interesting runner off a career low mark.

Hasn't won for nearly two years but some encouraging signs in claimers at Tipperary and Dundalk recently. Needs more back in handicaps and this trip could be a little on the sharp side for him.

Latest wins came at Dundalk in claimers earlier in the season. Was struggling off his revised mark but has been given a real chance by the handicapper and no surprise to see him bounce back.

Has been kept busy and ran three times at the Galway Festival. Good run at Bellewstown last week when fourth of 14, staying on well and he has won at this meeting back in 2013 but best recent efforts have come over further. First Reserve.

Gained his first win since early 2015 at Dundalk in May but has been disappointing returned to turf. Good chance he will appreciate this surface and he should give it a good go from the front; can't be ruled out if he bounces back. Second Reserve.

Korbous (7/2), Shepherd's Purse (9/2), Rivellino (11/2), Knockmaole Boy (7/1), Usa (7/1), Seanie (8/1), An Saighdiur (8/1), Ishebayorgrey (12/1), Burn The Boats (14/1), Delaire (14/1), Palawan (16/1), Dark Alliance (16/1), Fastidious (25/1)

Verdict

Korbous won this contest last year and while he hasn't won since, he's run some creditable races in defeat. However, KNOCKMAOLE BOY looks the one to beat for the Gordon Elliot stable and he can be forgiven his latest run on the Flat, when possibly finding two races at the Galway Festival in a couple of days, too much to handle. An Saighdiur has won off higher marks than this relatively recently and may prove best of the rest.
