Consistent type who is effective from 6f-1m. Gradually coming down the weights but suspicion is that he may need to come down a little further.

Winner of three races since joining this yard earlier this year. Has been struggling from higher marks and was last of eight on his most recent start.

Not won for over a year but has gone close on his last two starts including from this mark at Yarmouth ten days ago. Trainer and jockey combination have a 23% strike rate here and he is due to go up 2lb in future handicaps.

Has dropped to a handy mark but lacks consistency. His last two efforts are poles apart but he does represent a yard that has landed this twice since 2010.

Has produced some gallant efforts in defeat this term which have left him 8lb above his last winning mark. Chucked in an uncharacteristic poor run last time and stable have been quiet of late.

In good form at present and likes it around here. No match for a runaway winner when fancied off this mark last month. Steps up in class for this but ought to be in the mix.

Has proven a costly failure on his last two starts and steps up in grade here. Remains on a mark which connections think he should be scoring from, but he remains hard to recommend having blown easier assignments.

Landed a claimer under this rider in July and has gone well for him since. That is important as he is a tricky customer who needs to be produced as late as possible. Poor record in this grade but attractively weighted.

Hold up performer who has looked attractively weighted for some time. Has flattered to deceive a few times and that appeared the case last time when there was a lack of response until the race was all but over.

Hit hard by the handicapper following his Pontefract success. Went close when second here to the progressive The Armed Man but he was last of 14 on his most most recent start. He has been given eight weeks off and clearly something was amiss.

Has a good record on AW tracks but also has winning form on turf. Down to his last winning mark and his last two efforts have suggested his turn is near. The extra furlong will be a help too.

18-race maiden whose best efforts this year have come over C&D. These include a ½L second to Mango Chutney and he is 4lb better off here.

Forecasts

Fieldsman (4/1), My Dad Syd (6/1), Mango Chutney (7/1), God Willing (8/1), Kirkham (9/1), Vincenzo Coccotti (9/1), Chaplin Bay (9/1), Favourite Treat (12/1), Inexes (12/1), Benjamin Thomas (14/1), Round The Island (22/1), Zylan (50/1)

Verdict

Hard to be enthusiastic about many in this but FIELDSMAN deserves a change of luck and may have received a large slice of that as he is set to race off higher marks in future. The stable are in form and do well here. Favourite Treat is on a handy mark and is feared along with Kirkham who likes the track and has posted some solid efforts in defeat recently.
