5/1
Has been outclassed in some more competitive handicaps than this recently, and should be able to appreciate this easier contest off his lowest mark since March 2014, even if continuing to come up short

Little Poph,t23
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-12| J: Mr Zac Baker(5)| T: N A Twiston-Davies| OR:  113
7/4
Has been running well over hurdles recently, but is just as effective over fences and shouldn't have a problem with his current handicap mark. Likes to try and make all and appears to be the only front-runner in the field, which will help.

In fine form despite his age and not having won since September 2014. Down another 2lb with his capable conditional rider claiming another 7lb, and would appear to have leading claims in this small field.

Muwallat17
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-6| J: Callum Bewley(3)| T: Miss L Harrison| OR:  107| CD
7/2
C&D winner who arrives here having placed on each of his last five runs. May have found his handicap ceiling by now (has never won above this mark in his long career), but both trip and ground are fine for him.

Gin And Tonic20
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-2| J: J M Quinlan| T: M Wigham| OR:  89
11/2
Sole attempt at fences so far didn't go to plan and it's difficult to have too much confidence in him given how he has been running over the smaller obstacles and he is best watched.

Forecasts

Little Pop (7/4), Muwalla (7/2), Lord Ben (7/2), Indian Voyage (5/1), Gin And Tonic (11/2)

Verdict

With his front-running style sure to suit in this small field that lacks many pace angles, LITTLE POP may provide the answer here. Nigel Twiston-Davies' charge has been running well over hurdles at late but also holds solid form over the larger obstacles, and with ground to suit he can hit the front early and stay there, given few of these are likely to challenge him for the lead. The veteran Lord Ben has shown no signs of his old age in his recent performances and is preferred next, ahead of Indian Voyage who should find this a more suitable assignment.
  1. Little Pop
  2. Lord Ben
  3. Indian Voyage
