Thrived last season, scoring three times at around 1m, but struggled off a higher mark on her reappearance before being outclassed in a Listed event at Chester. Needs to rediscover her very best form to have any chance of defying top-weight.

Has been sent off favourite for all five of her starts but only has a Chester maiden win to her name. That said, she improved to finish a neck second behind Inshiraah over C&D (good to form) two weeks ago and she has obvious claims despite a 5lb rise.

Impressive winner of two of her first four starts, including over 6f here (good to soft) but found wanting off a 9lb higher mark in a deep 19-runner handicap here last time. Interesting to see how she fares over this longer trip.

Won at Lingfield last season and, after a below par comeback, has returned to form with a vengeance by winning at Salisbury and Haydock (both 7f, good to firm). Raised 4lb for her latest win but gives the impression there is more up her sleeve.

Twice a winner on the AW but record reads 0 from 17 on turf after a fruitless campaign which has seen her finish no better than third. Pulled very hard when well beaten at Ascot last time and is hard to fancy on that evidence.

Progressive type who made it two wins from five starts when just edging out Gymnaste in a good tussle over C&D (good to firm) two weeks ago. Closely matched with that rival again after a 6lb rise, respected.

7/1
Winner at York on her debut and not disgraced at times in better company, though readily picked off by both Inshiraah and Gymnaste over C&D (good to firm) two weeks ago. Re-opposes on better terms now, so not dismissed lightly.

Forecasts

Gymnaste (15/8), Inshiraah (9/4), Cartographer (9/2), Marie Of Lyon (7/1), Excellent Sounds (9/1), Breakable (25/1), Yeah Baby Yeah (33/1)

Verdict

The progressive pair Gymnaste and Inshiraah fought out a good tussle over C&D last time out (Marie of Lyon behind in fourth) and look closely matched on slightly revised terms but any value may lie with CARTOGRAPHER. Martyn Meade's filly is better than she showed when a disappointing favourite for a hot handicap over 6f here last time and is worth a try over this extra furlong. The hat-trick seeking Excellent Sounds also has to enter the equation.
  1. Cartographer
  2. Excellent Sounds
  3. Gymnaste
