Ripon winner when travelling strongly and winning over 1m4f in June off a mark of 73 with his previous win also coming at the same course. Below par after that on the AW at Newcastle (had run well there before) but returned to form over shorter here last time out although has an awkward outside draw this time.

Lightly-raced sort who scored on his third maiden start at Kempton on the AW over 1m4f finding plenty for pressure. Made his handicap/turf debut last time at York off a 2lb higher mark but looked beaten by the trip although he may have needed the run after a six month break.

Has shown some useful form in handicaps with his last two wins coming on the AW at Newcastle clearly well suited by the Tapeta surface. Turf form isn't quite as good although his Thirsk second in April off a 4lb lower mark was encouraging and he could take a hand here.

He must be the only runner on the card to have won on snow as he was a winner at Saint Moritz (2/8 at the track) in February. Since then his form has been on the up-and-up culminating in an Epsom win over 1m2f last time out off a mark of 74. He's already won around here over shorter and it will be just a question of how he copes with the longer trip today.

Ended a long losing run at Wolverhampton in January over 1m4f but has reverted to his rather inconsistent self since then with his last three runs all being here. Always possible that he can bounce back to form especially around here but not one to put much faith in overall.

A Haydock winner last year over 1m4f in August he looked to appreciate going back left-handed when winning at Catterick on his seasonal reappearance in April over a similar trip to today's. Has proved consistent since then taking the runner-up slot on his last two starts and showed he could handle this track on his penultimate start.

The second runner from this stable she showed her best form when winning at Catterick in April off a 6lb lower mark. She's rather struggled since then off higher marks and was a little disappointing at Ayr last time out.

Produced a career best effort off the back of his first and only (so far) hurdles win at Haydock in June relishing the ground under a competent amateur. Managed to follow-up that win around here over 2m in July looking a much improved model this year. Ran poorly last time out on good ground but not totally ruled out back on some ground with cut in it.

Has plenty of entries to his name indicative of a horse who connections may want to run under a penalty if successful here. Looked to have been brought along with handicaps in mind and proved that when winning on his debut in that sphere at Doncaster over 1m4f. Looks as though he can improve again and even with a slightly wide draw has to be of interest here.

Is now down to a good mark due to some weak efforts since his last win at Catterick last year. Not certain that he's in good enough form yet though to take advantage based on his last few runs.

Only had one win to his name and that came on the AW at Dundalk when trained by John Oxx over a shorter trip. Has certainly been given a chance by the handicapper and of interest if he's ready to go after a break having run on the Fibresand last time (not suited by that surface at all).

Has been a useful performer in the past but looks majorly out of sorts at the moment and even off this mark he looks to have a tough task on current form.

Has left Richard Fahey but has shown very little for this yard in three starts and has really yet to fire this term and is best watched here.

Rather in-and-out performer although he did return to form over hurdles at Doncaster on his penultimate start. Given a break after that win and showed up relatively well when taking third at Thirsk on his last start over 2m in a lower grade than this.

Verdict

Quite an open contest and with a big field going to post there could be some trouble in running here but a chance is take that SPARTE QUERCUS is better than he’s shown so far and he can improve. Kajaki has been a consistent sort and he along with Theos Lolly, Airton and Berrahri and all of that quartet enter the equation and are hard to rule out here. If there is one that is interesting amongst the likely bigger prices then My Fantasea fits the bill given his form in Ireland with this surface also looking to suit him better than Southwell beach last time out.
