Respectable third behind Ribchester in the Lockinge on seasonal reappearance but he was a disappointing favourite at Haydock last time. Softer the better as far as conditions go and always seems to run well at this course; ought to give another good account and won this contest last year.

Seemingly a bit of a 7f specialist and his win over Tasleet at Leicester earlier in the season now reads very well in the context of this race. Front-runner with a likable attitude and fewer questions marks hanging over him than most in here and yard have hinted at a return to form. Hard to beat.

Won a Listed contest on the Rowley Mile course at the start of last year but not seen since he was well beaten in a Group 2 here over 6f nearly a year ago. Entitled to come on for this run but no doubt we've not seen the best of him yet. Second string on jockey bookings.

Recorded his first win in 18 month here last time out but looks well out of his depth in this company.

Some very smart form at the start of last season and returned to the Meydan Carnival in a similar vein of form for the start of this year. Versatile ground wise and should come on for his most recent run at York; solid claims if he's at his best and should get a nice tow into the race from one of Godolphin's other runners, Home Of The Brave.

Proved he was as good as ever when seeing off Home Of The Brave at Newbury last year but he's not the most consistent type and entirely possible he'll need this run after a spell off the track while possibly better suited by faster conditions than what he'll get here.

Proved very progressive last year, culminating in a Group 3 win at Goodwood but he's been a shade disappointing on both starts this year and possible he's a little better at a mile than this trip. Needs to bounce back.

Career best when winning at Ascot two starts back on quick ground but looks out of his depth in this company and this probably a strong race for the grade so probably best watched again this time.

Forecasts

Home Of The Brave (13/8), Thikriyaat (5/1), Breton Rock (6/1), Jungle Cat (8/1), Ibn Malik (8/1), Richard Pankhurst (8/1), Winning Ways (10/1), Ifwecan (40/1)

Verdict

Godolphin hold a strong hand in this contest and HOME OF THE BRAVE looks the best of their trio. He could be a tough nut to crack on the front end with in form jockey James Doyle retaining the ride. Jungle Cat is useful on his day and won't mind conditions here while Breton Rock is another proven at this level and won this race last year, he should enjoy conditions.
  1. Home Of The Brave
  2. Jungle Cat
  3. Breton Rock
