Takes a step back down the grading ladder after a couple of moderate efforts but now back on the same mark as when victorious at Leicester last June (soft ground). Hard to totally discount but yard struggling for form, and others are preferred.
Shed his maiden tag with a win at the eighth attempt at Yarmouth latest beating Albert Boy (reopposes here) decisively and 6lb rise for that fair. Handles soft underfoot conditions, trip no issue and plenty to recommend tonight.
Had shown only a spot of ability in three maidens but much better for the step into handicaps last time out, finishing second to a progressive sort at Carlisle. Conditions here fine and if building on that run, should get in the shake-up.
Trip and likely ground both fine, but ground to make up on Askari on Yarmouth form and latest effort at Haydock a step backwards. May get own way up front but even so, others hold stronger claims.
Has been hurdling lately and has turned in a couple of solid efforts in modest company. Earlier flat efforts poor, but could be that he's just finding his feet now, so a better run wouldn't be the biggest surprise. Handles some cut, so likely ground conditions okay.
Only had the six starts, so open to improvement, but he needs it after taking a backwards step at Beverley on his latest start. Cheekpieces go on tonight and they need to have a big effect. All looks a bit risky, and others preferred.
You've got to go back to 2011 for his last win, but there's been some big absences in the meantime,so clearly had some issues. First run for new yard that know the time of day, though, so from such a low mark is at least worth a glance in the market.
Used to run consistently well at trips in excess of this back in 2015 but not seen out since then, so likely to need this after such a long absence. Best watched tonight.
No win since 2014 but occasionally throws in the odd good run when the mood takes him. Trip and likely ground fine but surely more likely winners given overall win record.

ASKARI won at Yarmouth in plenty in hand and looks the one that's going the right way in a field full of hard-to-win-with and regressive types. Soft ground is clearly no problem and he can follow up. Old China could have more to offer after a better first effort in handicaps and can get in the money. Art History has all sorts of questions to answer but his yard know how to land a punt and is at least worth a market check. Petrucci holds a chance if able to carry his recent hurdles efforts back to the Flat.
