23 runs since his last win now and while his handicap mark continues to fall, he's shown no signs of getting on the scoresheet. Conditions probably softer than ideal and hard to fancy.

Very inconsistent sort and never scored off a mark this high but he's useful when everything drops right and this wouldn't be his most competitive assignment; gets the services of an apprentice jockey well worth his 7lb claim.

Won back-to-back races towards the end of last summer but hasn't managed to get her head in front since. Question mark over this trip after she finished well beaten on her own previous start at 2m but kept on like she would stay the trip at Nottingham when runner-up last time and far from dismissed in this contest.

Useful dual purpose performer who won't mind the ground and will have no issues staying this trip but has always struggled off this kind of mark in the past and a place possibly the best she can hope for.

Won an apprentice handicap in good fashion at Doncaster at the start of the campaign but struggled on a couple of subsequent start off his revised mark. Dropped 2lb lower now and stays this trip well as seen when winning over a little further on the AW. Should go well for a trainer/jockey combination that won this last year in these colours.

No turf wins in over two years now and probably better on faster ground than what he will get here. Shaped like he was in need of the run on his return at Catterick but hard to fancy regardless.

Forecasts

Royal Flag (5/2), Zenafire (7/2), Gabrial's Star (7/2), Corpus Chorister (4/1), Angel Gabrial (9/2), Perfect Summer (10/1), Gabrial The Duke (20/1)

Verdict

CORPUS CHORISTER may be worth chancing after a good second last time when she kept on towards the finish, shaping like she may stay this trip. Gabrial's Star is inconsistent but can't be ruled out if he's in the mood while Royal Flag represents connections who won this last year and has worked his way back down to a feasible looking mark.
  1. Corpus Chorister
  2. Gabrial's Star
  3. Royal Flag
