Modest form of his sole start on the Flat was blown out of the water on debut over hurdles. Another with bags of scope and sure to be in the mix if he has thrived since last month's smooth effort to win at Kilbeggan.

Improving and won well last time at Kilbeggan. That form is just modest but this fellow has a touch of class about him and may continue to pay his way. Interesting to see how the market reacts between him and his stablemate, Le Richebourg. The latter looks the more suitable candidate at this stage.

Flat-bred individual and makes limited appeal after being well beaten in all three hurdle starts so far. Hard to fancy on the evidence available.
5

25/1
Modest effort on debut in a point-to-point; in the process of bettering that effort until falling last time out. Probably needs fences in front of him to be seen at his best. Hard to recommend today.

Never placed in four starts on the Flat and has carried over a similar level of performance to his Jumping career up to press. Best left to his own devices here.
7

Another that lacks appeal on what he has shown so far; tailed off on debut at Tramore and a virtual transformation is required to even make the frame here.

14/1
Rated 75 at his best on the Flat - winning a class 5 handicap over 10f at Chelmsford his biggest achievement to date. Best watched on hurdles debut and first start for a new yard.
Signs of ability on debut and hard to say what would have happened had she stayed on his feet at Punchestown on her latest start. Breeding lacks the appeal of a few of the others but sure to at least benefit from the experience if her jumping holds up this time.

Never better than mid-division in three starts over 1m4f on the Flat. Untried on anything other than soft ground and, given that her yard is quiet just now, this looks beyond Andrew Slattery's filly at this stage.

Forecasts

Nessun Dorma (2/5), Le Richebourg (13/8), Treasure Chest (5/2), Blue Eyed Lucy (10/1), Possible Future (14/1), Spirit Of The Rain (20/1), Fifty Shades (25/1), Muroor (25/1), Ihavent A Clue (33/1), Fraser (100/1), Dublin Road (100/1)

Verdict

Not hard to whittle this down to just a handful, with the highly progressive LE RICHEBOURG heading the shortlist over the improving Nessun Dorma, who is going the right way and can make this a good test. Treasure Chest is a handy second-string for the Joseph O'Brien string to call upon but his profile is less impressive than that of the selection and it would be no surprise to see him having to settle for being the best of the rest.
  1. Le Richebourg
  2. Nessun Dorma
  3. Treasure Chest
